    Default Divine Might

Do feat charisma points count as the base to get the Divine might enhancements? or does it have to be through Tomes/Level's up?

Trying to avoid HAVING to have a +3 CHA tome for my TR, as my 20th Shroud gave me a +3 Wis. Great if I were staying cleric. not so good since i'm TRing pally

It's base stats/level ups/tomes only. No racial enhancements, no class enhancements.

I'm not sure if this will help in your decision at all, but I've got some experience with it on my Cleric- given the obnoxious "casting" time, I really don't think it's worth it unless you can achieve DMII or higher. Just my opinion, but I really don't believe DMI to be worth it on most builds I like.

Only starting points, level ups and tomes count for a cleric. I'm assuming its the exact same for a pally.

Only base stat + level ups + tomes count for Divine Might.

On a pally, it's usually advised to start with 18 cha if you want to get DM 4, since you can't be sure you'll pull a +3 cha tome, which you should be able to afford on 34 point build if you dump wis, provided you're not going TWF.
I think you can make do with DM 3 though if your build can only afford 16 or 17 cha.
A lower DM than that is probably not worth the casting time.

The only source of feat cha that I know of is completionist... no idea if it counts though.

I am going TWF, so...that doesn't exactly help. A friend told me that my 20th Reaver's completion will give me a choice of +3 tomes. Bologna or true? I don't mind another 2 months of grind if this is the case. If not, then I'll probably relook at my build and see what is the what.

It is definitely possible, but by no means guaranteed.

    I'm sorry, I meant Enhancement.

I was looking at my build here, and saw that even when i was building her, i still didn't qualify for DMIV, probably because the extra point I had to get my CHA to 20 was the paladin CHA. Is it worth it to put at most two build points into Cha instead of Str for access to DM IV? Or would I be alright with DM III?

I mostly play casters, and have never done a Pally before. It's been a while since I've read the epic Pally post, which i do need to reread again especially before I actually TR her, but I also kind of want some more updated information, along with a wider range of information. I'm pretty set on TWF, because, well, I'm in love with my GS scimitars (Or will be when i farm the base ingredients i need to make my second one), but i'm a bit confused about how much extra damage DM will give me. I dumped Cha on my cleric because, well, I was (read am) a newb, and didn't think i'd loose that much from it since turning was such a limited part of the game, and Rad Serv would restock my clickies. From what i understand though Divine Might is almost crucial to getting decent DPS on a pally.

I'm not an epic player, nor am I a min maxer. I'm not going to farm the same quest 15 bajillion times to get that extra +1 to my attack bonus item. I just want to know what is decent DPS, and how a Pally does it.

only cc bards and sorcerers can afford to start with 18 charisma, and you are guarnteed to pull a +3 charisma tome... eventually. stay on your hound, shroud, vod, reaver timers and you will get one.

as for the to long casting time for anyting less than DM III, use it like a barb uses damage boost, on the way to the fight, not in the middle of it. Most fights will have pauses in them giving you time to cast DM, without lowering damage. even in boss fights you will usually pull away to fight trash. their are very few sustained beat downs > one minute in duration

I'd say it's possible but not guaranteed. The loot gods may not be with you on that 20th completion.

Have you looked at Junts' paladin guide: http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=218542 ?
That should be a good help to building a TWF pally. Note that on his sample drow TWF paladin he advises getting only 17 cha, but that's for a 28 point build, so you can probably push it to 18 cha on a TR.

Yea his guide is what i meant by epic Paladin thread. I just couldn't remember if Junts was the right name or not. I am not a fan of starting with that low of a con, and even less of a fan of going drow, which is why i'm not following that build, or one similar. I went with a 12 con on my cleric, and She stays out of battle at all costs because she's not exactly the most tough thing in the world. I just like a little bit more padding I suppose.

I'd wait and pull a +3 CHA tome.

BYOH. Know it, abide by it, or don't mess with those who do.
