unbound +3 and +4 tomes price

Disclaimer: it's not in my intention to upset the sellers of such tomes nor I'm trying to influence the running auctions / offers / etc (I'm far too poor to make a reasonable offer ).

Are unbound +3 and +4 tomes so valuable in your opinion?

Obviously I know they are among the rarest items u can get in this game, but I'm genuinly surprised by the amount of goodies and shinies ppl are willing to pay for one of them.....

If I'm not too nosy, I'll be really interested to know why ppl would be happy to pay what they offered for them (ungimping a favourite toon, make it uburer, etc).

Yes they are valuable to people that have "everything"... For a further discussion I would suggest you make a thread in a another part of the forum that isnt the marketplace, you'll probably get more feedback that way!

They are extremely valuable because they are extremely rare. To the player plans to be completionist with 3 stacked past lives in each of 4 different classes to maximize the past life benefit... they are really playing min/maxing to the max. They are looking to build the best that they possibly can. '

No matter how much raiding they do it is possible they will never get a complete stack of +4/+3 tomes so if you have the one they are missing...bingo! And the nice thing about unbound is if they happen to get something to replace it before "their last life" they can always resell it or move it to another character (or keep it for the life after the last life considering eventually another class will be added).

This type of player generally is a grinder, and that means they have a lot of stuff to trade as well.

To me one main reason for why they are so valuable is that as opposed to any other loot they don't take up a spot. If for example you get the most uber gloves in the game you will have to relinquish whatever benefit you had from your previous gloves Not so with tomes

Unbound tomes are worth an outrageous amount...but the catch is that they're only worth that amount to an extremely small percentage of players. But to those players, they're worth almost everything they own. Why? Because these players already have everything. You can farm ingredients, platinum, scrolls, seals, etc. For the power gamer you can be swimming in epic gear and raid items, but still not have those coveted +4 tomes. You can't farm a +4 tome, but you can farm the stuff to buy it.
