Default Build Request for TWF Dwarf

    Hi all,

I would like to TR my TWF Dwarf fighter in to a FVS and was hoping to see if:

    a) This build is viable
    b) A help with the build

N.B will be a 34 pt build I have access to all +2 tomes and would expect to add +3 at some point. I have 2 x Min 2 Dw axes that I would like to keep hence the build. Other kit I may have but really interested in seeing a build & maybe some kits suggestions.

Thank you in advance for your time!

    Meek

Splash 1 or 2 levels of fighter...voila martial weapon prof (dwarven axes for dwarf) 1 or 2 extra feats, etc. Use those 1 or 2 extra feats for toughness or power attack!

With 2 levels of fighter you get:

Martial weapon prof, 2 extra feats, 2 BAB, and a bit higher hp.

So if dwarf 34pt...get: 16 str, 15 dex (+2 tome qualifies for GTWF), 16 con, 10 int, 10 wis, 12 cha.

    Levelups in strength

You have 9 feats to burn, you want to qualify for AoV so:

Power attack, toughness, maximize spell, quicken, empower spell, improved critical slashing (debatable since you will be using Min2 mostly, I recommend switching with empower healing), TWF, iTWF, gTWF.

Choose TWF and Power attack as your class feats for fighter levels. Fit in the rest whenever.

The result? A -VERY- sturdy dwarf with high hp, decent damage, and a great melee soul.

    A. What is the purpose of your TWF Dwarf build? Is it damage + durable/hardy? If so, Warforged get EXCELLENT synergy with greatswords (great +dmg/+hit), dwarf you won't make use of axes (swords are the sov. host line).

    1. Is the build viable? No.

If you don't have warforged/don't want WF, there are still better alternatives. I personally believe even an elf or human TWF are better builds, as they make use of the Favored Soul faith weapon lines (elf = scimitar, human = longswords).

Turbine has yet to give dwarfs an axe line, and Half-orc an axe and/or maul line.

    2. My help to you is pick WF for being dmg + survival, pick Human for longswords and the feat, pick Half-elf/elf for scimitar, or scrap the idea completely - roll up a Battlecleric who can be a strong TWF dwarf. The dwarf will will be quite a bit behind the other choices as FvS benefit greatly from weapon lines.

I am currently running a thf dwarf 18/2 fvs/fighter. Imo dwarves make great fvs melees. Fighter splash helps out alot with feats. The axe damage enhancements make this a great build. You will enjoy it.

If you TR do you get to choose a different race? If not then your advice will not help him at all.

Yes, you do. All which is kept through a TR, is the name and the gender. And the items and past lives, of course.

Normally I'd suggest the classic FvS 18 / monk 2 combo, except you'd have to burn a feat on DAxe since you don't get the prof. otherwise. Other alternatives are FvS 18 / ftr 2 (lose Evasion & WIS AC bonus but gain DAxe free saving a feat) or FvS 18 / monk 2 / ftr 1 (lose lvl 9 spells but gain an extra feat).

Really, though, it depends on what you want to be able to do: melee DPS? Buff? Heal? Offensive spells? Etc.

For spells focus on heals, buffs, and light spells (which have no saves). Like I said, going ftr instead of monk would let you drop DAxe prof. for another feat (probably a meta), but you lose Evasion (and WIS AC bonus, but this is not an AC build). Going monk 2 / ftr 1 means giving up lvl 9 spells (no Mass Heal for you), but gain two feats (ftr bonus + drop DAxes prof) while keeping Evasion.

Looks good to me, however there is little point in having a cha score of 14, reduce it to 12, and pump up int for more skill points!

    Other than that looks fine!

You don't need so much CHA: base 12 + 2 tome + 6 item and you're golden. That would also let you drop the CHA enhs for, say, Axe dmg II. I would probably delay the 2nd ftr lvl; you don't need PA right away and your spell progression is a little quicker that way. If you plan to use Min2 DAxes exclusively, you can drop IC Slash; that would let you add, say, Emp Heal instead.
