    Arrow Make DDO Prettier

DDO has been out for over 5 years now, and I know it didn't start off super pretty.. but I think it could use a major revamp in how it looks. WoW is cartoony and sucks. I can't afford Rift, but it's super pretty. If DDO was amazingly pretty, that would be awesome! Ever notice how difficult it is to show your friend a cool screenshot of DDO? Like someone who hasn't played before... they don't get how great the combat system is, and some people judge a book by it's cover. This has been done before, I think it was U5 or something, where they redid a lot of the textures and made DDO prettier... My request: Please do it again! I want DDO to be pretty and HD looking.

I like pretty things. You know what is pretty? Sparkles and glitter. DDO needs to be pretty too, so lets put sparkles and glitter everywhere in DDO. The Marketplace should have disco balls everywhere, and the buildings should be all covered in glitter paint and sparkle. When airships fly by in the sky, they should leave rainbow trails, with sparkling ponies and unicorns galloping on the clouds around them.

    That would be awesome!

    I prefer fun over pretty.

    Graphics != fun

I perceive beauty to be red. Specifically, the deep crimson of blood drying in open air.

So, I think everyone's toons should have this skin tone. Also, all bridges, buildings, the sky itself, etc. should reflect my personal vision of beauty.

Because that's what this game is about, right? Catering to me, me, me?

Dunno about anyone else, but when I hear the words "dungeons and dragons" I picture dark, gloomy, scary, and mysterious...
If I wanted pretty with sparkles, i'd go play Hello Kitty.

Hey now, I didn't say it couldn't be scary. I wish there were scary quests too.. like that game F.E.A.R., oh man, that could make you jump. None of those "scary" quests from U9/10 do that for me.

Imagine my astonishment when I found myself agreeing with the OP.

DDO is becoming rather dated in terms of textures, models and animations. I do like some of the new DX11 features but mostly it's a "shiny-pretty" on an aging framework. It's beginning to remind me visually more and more of Half-Life 2. Great game, just kind of old.

Spend some more time out of the pvp pit and you will see DDO has good graphics.

You were so close, its actually all about me, me, me, not you, you , you.
Shapshap, League of Extraordinary Ham, Sarlona and a bunch of alts that all have names begining with Sha or Sho. Of course Shapshap could be the alt and one of the others the main, it just depends on what day it is.

I'm confused. Are people really opposed to a graphics upgrade for DDO?

The game does look dated or just plain bad in some areas...such as the Odo look alikes that keep on getting rolled up.

It's because I suggested it. Hence the PvP comments.

I'm opposed to it being updated until they fix all the stuff that's not WAI and giving us some new content.

Unless they hire some more people and can competently do both at one time.

Not against a graphics update, just don't want it enough, to make it take resources from other parts of development.
