Thread: Player Notebook

  1. #1

    Default Player Notebook

I'm sure it's been suggested before, but I'd like a tab on the character sheet just below the (Bio) tab that said (Notes). This would be a tab that appears the same and is editable across all characters for that account.

This would allow you to note cross character goals, statistics, item requirements, favor stuffs, who has important loots, as well as if you have a boilerplate for the Bio, an easy means to copy it and change it as your toons change - given the largest use for bio is the alt-listing.

While it's true you could do this with Notepad, some of us play on multiple computers or don't want to flip back and forth between an always having to reopen secondary doc. Keep my experience in game.

If there is a roundabout but easy to link up means to have a personal-view-only editable blog via the myDDO in game web browser... that might also work. Haven't played with that enough I guess.

I like it. It would also allow you to keep notes on troublesome players you'd rather not quest with in the future .

    Wink

    I have one already.

A bit old fashioned, but working.
    And it don't use electricity!

I'm not supporting the idea, but I'm also not against it, but using paper is just easier and cheaper, not to mention that handwritting skills are less used nowadays, so it may be good opportunity to practise ^^

    Treekiller! (j/k)

How is paper cheaper or really easier than an already running electronic interface?

    I use recycled paper :P

The cheapest notebook, 32 pages is 0,50PLN, about 12-15 cents (but in USA everything is more expensive I think).
And cost of man work to implement notebook, storing blablabla etc is little higher I think ^^

I like this idea. I write things down now, but I can't read my own handwriting half the time (It's THAT bad). Would be good for blacklists, Jotting down recipees, directions for certain quests (Shadow Crypt mostly) basically anything you'll want to remember in game.

Shadow crypt is easy. You just turn around and go back through the same door you entered every time and you will eventually get EVERY room.

That's what the Friends list is for. It also allows you to make notes under Player's names and to import/export between toons.

Yeah, but there are walkthroughs for the fastest path for farming in each configuration, which is not that method.

I don't like being notified every time they come one, and furthermore having to dig through my real friends list. So I put my blacklist in my bio on all characters.

Easy, keeps track, AND has the added benefit of being public.

Eh...I just realized I wrote this in player speak. I should put in Turbine Speak.

Yesterday I forgot to buy a character bank space when they were on sale because I don't have a centralized notes location for my account. I'm not gonna buy it at full price. Centralized account notes -> Make it so and I give you TP. I would have looked at my player notes to see that Bill needs to run the LFM'ed dragon and seen that Ted should buy the on sale bank space. True Story that didn't happen.
