    Default Favored Soul 36 pt. build

    Just finished making the build for my next TR. 36 favored soul, past lives sorc and wiz. Taking wiz past life at lvl 3. Healing spec, but should be able to bring pain w/ offensive spells, and a longsword and shield. In the prcess of making a GS longsword, but i haven't decided whether pos-light-light, or light-pos-light. Both would make Lit. 2, but i was thinking for of the first one. That would give me Holy Shock Burst Shock Blast. According to the planner i use (http://perfectweb.org/ddo/crafting/base_crafting.php) both would make lit 2. Should hit 477 hp without +6 con item, and 2778 sp, with archmagi and a shroud item. Here's the build, please post feedback. First time posting a build on the forums, so i'm hoping it doesn't come out all crapy

    Way, way, way too much charisma, too little wisdom.

    Wisdom should either be basically topped out (starting 16-18, all level-ups into it), or ignored (10).

    Charisma gives extremely meager benefits. The difference between a starting 12 and a starting 16 at level 20 is 58 SP. Not worth 6 build points that could be far more profitably spent elsewhere. Really ANY other attribute would be better to boost with those points. And as for putting level up points into it. Ugh. You're not a sorcerer.

    As for your GS weapon, if you want to be serious about hitting stuff with it, then you either need to make a mineral weapon for the "free" keen, or you want to drop one of your feats (I'd suggest Mental Toughness), and take Improved Critical.

    Agreed. Decided what you want to do with this guy. If caster is the answer, then I would raise wisdom upto 18. This could be done by bring str to 10, Con to 16 and/or cha down to 12. Some combination of these. If you want to make the GS long sword, and use that as your main DPS, dump wis (10) and bring cha/Con down such that str is 16 or so.

    Jack of all trades makes for a weaker FvS imo

    just re-spec'ed it, and did 16 WIS 14 CHA. Here is the fixed build. Should hit 2695 SP, and WIS is up to 20 now.

    Will want to hit things, but i dont want to dump all of my other stats. Already have a +6 STR item, and am planning on getting a +2 tome, if not +3. Should hit about 20 STR.

    This is a slight improvement, but my non-Tr evoker FvS will run circles around this guy DC wise, and my WF FvS will destroy this build in melee...I don't understand what you're going for here, as people before this have said, you either MAX wisdom (18 BASE, ALL LEVEL UPS) or DUMP wisdom (8 BASE, NO LEVEL UPS).

    I don't understand why you would put level up points into CON/CHA, all you're doing is spreading yourself out and making yourself weaker.

    The point for the one lvl up in CON is for and equal number stat, otherwise it is an odd number, and wasted, and if not mental tough, what would you take? Matuse said improved critical, but what would you take?

    Use your human adaptability enhancements for things like this. It's really a much cheaper and flexible way of doing it, you'll be hitting yourself on the head if you get a +3 tome if you spend a point in con on level up, whereas enhancements can be reset for free at 20...

    Edit: Oh and, improved critical is silly good.

    Melee max str lvls into str
    Caster max wis lvls into wis
    Cha no higher than 14. Only need 19 to cast highest lvl.
    Only need 16 con.

    36 point evoker I would go
    Str 12
    Dex8
    Con 16
    Int 8
    Wis 18
    Cha 14

    With 2 cha tome drop it to 12 raise int for more skill points or str for better to hit.

    Ok, so i will be working around with my enhancements, and feats. What would you say for a starting CHA at lvl 1? Planning on dumping WIS to base i suppose, and maybe getting rid of mental tough...just need to figure out what to take in its stead, and what CHA should be at.

    Not very familiar with FvS terms..would evoker be a healer as well? Or just a DPS/Offensive caster..planing on being a main healer, and possibly DPS/Offensive caster. I know in wizard/sorcerer terms evoker means pure DPS caster, instead of crowd control, or in a FvS case healer

    Will be mainly casting/healing, but i want to at least be able to do 30 points of damage per hit with a longsword. Quicken would also be nice when not in melee though, because it lets you get those long spells like mass heal out a lot faster in times like shroud.

    Imo Empower healing feat is meh, also I would replace empower healing with maximize feat and empower is handy if u can take before or at lvl15.

    Ability raise every 4 lvls must be Wisdom. Try to put points in UMD skill at every lvl and at lvl 6 u put points in tumble that u can do it at lvl1. Mental toughness may be handy while leveling up but i suggest you to swap it for heighten or something when u are properly geared(gs con opp +150sp item).

    Overall your build donot seem to be a full fledged Dashing Evoker(missing spell focus feats and a few enhancements) but works just fine.

    I have the GS 150 sp item, but instead of con op item, i use the torc, unles you think it would be better off being on a diff slot or have a second one.

    If i were to dump mental tough, i would probably swap feats around and take quicken at lvl 9, and imp crit slash at 12, because you need a BaB of 8 inorder to get it, and i would get that at lvl 11.

    Evoker will be a very good healer(main healing) but dps- ok while leveling but at high levels dps of an evoker is meh.

    Imo Fvs can be build best as Evoker +healer or Dps + Healer but cannot do it all evoker + dps+ main healing(i mean best at all three).

    With S&B, lowish strength and no power attack, you won't put much hurt in melee. It's not a problem you just might not want to spend a lot of shroud ingredients on it.

    Don't spread attribute increases around. If you want to focus on casting, put them all in wisdom for higher DCs.

    Which feats to take instead of MT? For a caster you might want Heighten Spell, (Greater) Spell Penetration, (Greater) Spell Focus Necromancy/Evocation, ...

    All IMHO

    Ive been tossing aroun the idea of doing heighten, but havent been fully decided. As a caster i've seen how nice it can be (especialy with web and hold monster). And as a healer i suppose it could nice with the ocasional Blade Barrier or Comet Fall..(if it even helps there) I have the defiac diadem, so that would be heighten=no sp. and then spell focus ive been thinking of as well, i just dont have room for greater so thats why i didnt take it.

    i'm not an expert, but i'd take off empower healing to make room for empower, and take extend earlier (no actual need of extended spells at lvl 18 when are already around 20 mins) an quicken later (quicken is actually useful for mass-heals, so it's useful around lvl 18-20). heighten spells will boost your implosion dc up, making it more friendly with epics in which u can do more then an healerbot and also spell pen and evocation focus can be handy
