Essences don't take up a loot slot anymore in chests, but it has a side-effect

Ran shroud yesterday and pulled 2 stacks of essences in every chest on 3 characters ...

Nah dude I think they stealth nerfed it cause in mid run essences stopped dropping.

My guess is a server setting got changed at two different times for two different servers.

Yea seems like they nerfed something server side.

Other day: essences in bonebit: 100%
Today: 0%

Tried some higher lvl:
Mired in kobolds elite, did a couple runs:
Droprate was very high but not 100%. Somewhere between 50-75%.
Amount of essences was rather poor. 1 to 9.. With 1-2 being common, and 9 being very rare - only once.
Still a good lootrun since its 9 chests in under 10min, with lots of good junk to dconstruct.

And ran some epics again ofcourse.. Still zero essences.

PS: Talking about live servers for all this.. So yea kinda wrong forum.

I did a couple of Shadow Crypt runs today, one with all 12 gears, one with 8. Found essences twice, each time a single stack. 2/20 isn't a huge sample size, but 10% feels about right.

Sudden big change to essence drops on live servers.

went from 1-2 different greater essences per chest in Shroud to 0-1. I'm guessing they have a server side control that they can use

My guess is that they can't remove essences from key/gear/sigil chests completely until next patch, but they could reduce the essence drop rate across the board, so that is what they did.

They are dropping in the korthos starter chests, the heyton's crypt one? has 3 chests in it for just about a minute to run.
