    Default Soloing amrath on my FVS - few pointers?

    Since I've re-VIP'd I need to flag some folks for ToD, grab some clickies on toons that don't have them, and get boot materials. I've been doing a bit of grouping trying to re-learn what I've forgotten, but ultimately I've set a personal goal to be able to solo them. Once I can, I doubt I will - it's an Everest-thing.

    Part of it is the personal challenge to be able to solo these and, since I've been on my FVS lately, she's the gimp I've selected to figure it out with (plus there's a host of clickies I want for her there, so makes sense).

    Normal
    =======================
    Normal is fine; not a problem; I can manage all of the quests, though ...

    Bastion of Power: Is there a "faster" way to do Bastion? I did it a few times; once by killing every portal (because, duh, sometimes I decide to be thorough) ... and once trying to skip as much as possible. It wasn't difficult, just took for freaking ever. I brought along a group for one run and honestly trying to keep everyone alive drained my SP faster than killing mobs and healing myself; not a fun time.

    Genesis Point: Man, is there a fast way I can do that? I imagine once I get it down it'll be Inferno-of-the-Damed-fast ... so ultimately still not that fast. I still want a Singed and Tokala's belt for her, so a few more runs are going to be required.

    Any pointers for those two to speed up the run? I watched a few videos and haven't seen any magical hints in the ones I watched.

    Hard
    =======================
    Hard I've done on a number of them already. Again, trouble spots are Bastion and Genesis Point simply for speed and sloggy-ness.

    Bastion: Failed hard on my one attempted; tried to rush because I'm an impatient tard and wiped when the DA got too high.

    Elite
    =======================
    Sins - Is there a way to bypass the first mobs in Sins easily, esp. those on the wire-2 level corridor section? I can fight them but again, that's slow.

    On New Invasion - who by the portal specifically has to die? I nuked them all, but if I can just kill the few who need to die, that'd help w/ the SP conservation which I'm sure I'll have issue with on Elite. Also, are there any "tells" one can look for to identify maze hints? Otherwise it's wing-and-pray to find the drop-down (which I can do, but still annoying ....)

    Gear
    =======================
    Gear-wise, I think for the FVS I need to bring more guards; I don't have tons of guards on the character right now (3 that do damage maybe?). Thoughts? Any particular guards work well? Straight damage? Effects like TTS? I'm more inclined to make more universal items though, rather than specific Amrath things - I'm not rich with mats...

    - Greensteel Wearables ... I'm thinking about a SP-offensive guard and an HP-offensive guard - right now both of mine are more passive guards (ie, Earthgrab, Air) ... I made those first because I don't like causing problems in things like PUG HoX. So, plan is to make a second HP and second SP item (and cleanse one) so I can then swap in a "mean" set.

    - Will a STR skills item help w/ trip checks? If not I'll go DEX skills for the balance to get back up quicker.

    - I've got multiple DT armors and can really easily make more of them though the Sov. rune is somewhat of a ****-shoot; ran the first predominantly on GFL/Salt/Radiance gear. I've also got a GFL/Salt/Enervation (which I could pair w/ a TTS guard if that is going to still work on elite)

    - I think I also need to run a few more hounds for a Levik's - I've been swapping between greataxe and turtling and when I'm turtling the heal proc would be pretty spiffy.

    So, I know - kinda rambling - feedback and advice appreciated!

    I find that it is faster and easyer to "2 man" the Amarath quests. Soloing is doable however takes "For Freaking ever". Bringing in a PUG just means more potential for headache and faster SP draining. Your best bet is to find a killer DPS Barbarian or Nuking Arcane to team with. I run these with my guildmate. He has either the Barb or Arcane so I know how easy it can be in a duo. I also run with my WF FVS and there are no special tricks to get them done faster. Time is not on your side.

    My fastest runs out in Amrath were with a Guildie (Monk)-2 manned. I am in agreement that this is the most efficient way to do em.

    Indeed a Monk would work very well also. Any type of 2 man with strong DPS or Arcane and a healer. I have also 2 manned these as a WF Wizard with a WF Barbarian that I could repair.

    Sorry I do not want to give any bad advice and as sin is the only quest where I know much about here you go

    Elite
    =======================
    Sins - Is there a way to bypass the first mobs in Sins easily, esp. those on the wire-2 level corridor section? I can fight them but again, that's slow. Are you talking about the Cinderspawn? or just the mobs in general? If so just scroll a fire shield and kite, if you have a symbol of persusion that is worth something you could try that

I will make a con op HP that never goes off, and a Trap the soul sp, trap the soul may help you with the enervation guard as well

    - Will a STR skills item help w/ trip checks? If not I'll go DEX skills for the balance to get back up quicker. I think it is just based on a str check so a item would help out with that (and str damage)

    - I've got multiple DT armors and can really easily make more of them though the Sov. rune is somewhat of a ****-shoot; ran the first predominantly on GFL/Salt/Radiance gear. I've also got a GFL/Salt/Enervation (which I could pair w/ a TTS guard if that is going to still work on elite)my DT is weird with healing amp 10% and 20% with great potency 7, but your radiance guard would be nice to blind oponents to help you with damage, the light damage will also be amplified by your AOV

    - I think I also need to run a few more hounds for a Levik's - I've been swapping between greataxe and turtling and when I'm turtling the heal proc would be pretty spiffy. Hounds shield is awesome when you divine punishment turtle AND the innate dr you get if they dont break it

    Sounds interesting and fun But as others have said having more man power in general will make things go faster
    however I aim to solo elite amrath on my FvS so comments in red

    Great advice so far ...

    RJEDI - Not the first mini-bosses to open the doors (Cinderspaw) - after that ... there's the place you drop down and the corridor forms a cross w/ an upper and lower level and a grate between them - the devils can teleport between levels. Other than invisibly winging my way through, is there any good way to manage them? I tend to pull more mobs and DA there than anywhere.

    So not first bit, middle I guess is more accurate.

    I've got a Lorrik's, but no Levik's yet. Boo for timers.

    DaSawks / Hellllboy - Hear you; sound advice. Now I just need to find a good meat-sack-of-death or arcanodominatornecrolord to pair with ... which may be schedule-tough. That's ok though, I'm not afraid to PUG ... it may take a few times though.

    Ok are you melee based? or evoker? if evoker just throw down Blade barriers then inv wing + repeat, that is what works for several of my guildies that solo it.

    but my symbol DC is 35ish which gets some of them but that helps SO much since they agro the others and it keep DA at a small ammount

    good luck

    Melee (laser DP kinda build), but BB is still tolerable.

    I don't have Symbol and would avoid it due to the **** save I'd have.

    I also run a WF FVS that has LOTB. Greatswords, "Lazer" and Divine Punishment is a great combo. With a good investment of Healing Amp you can run most quests solo. I love the build. He is based off Sirgog's SoulSurvivor.

    I run a melee clonk, and I find it far easier to BB packs of devils rather than beat them down. I've done Sins norm using either method, but on elite BB is the only way to go. I still would melee/dp the bosses, but the hallway fights against swarms of devils was BB. Random note.... them traps hit crazy hard on elite. Sometimes on norm runs I'll BB kite right in some blade traps for bonus damage, but thats a bit too risky on elite.
