Default Cleric boosting damage of DP

It is of the evocation school, and I am trying to make a green steel weapon that will boost this damage but I am not seeing anything that will do that.

Does anything in green steel boost the damage of this spell? Or any spells in the clerics list? Right now my shield and weapon are the two that boost the damage of my spells (potency) and boost the power of my heals (devotion).

I can get a superior devotion to boost the heals, but I really do not want to put that on the weapon as there are so many other things that can go there. I would do something that boosts the damage of my spells so I am not having to remember to switch weapons before I cast.

There is no Greensteel property to help light spells.

Potency will affect all spells (healing included), while Devotion only affects Healing spells.
If you dont want to switch around weapons, get Superior Potency VI (or Greater Potency VII, depending on your Spell usage).

Divine Punishment is a light based spell? (sry, I forget)

You'll want to look for a potency item as gDra suggested, I would also recomment a superiour brilliance clickie (dont see too many of these, but they are on the AH)

Could alwaya craft one or two when the Cannith crafting goes back up.

Also, have you topped up your smiting enhancemement line? (Light based spell damage)
    Got damage boosting metamagics? (maximize/empower)

Yeah I have maximize, empower and I have the whole smiting line, and 2 of the smiting crit line for enhancements so as to not gimp the healing aspect of the character.

With my potency item and 3 ticks on say harry, the DP is doing about 360 damage every 2 seconds on average and crits for almost 600 so it is nice and I like it, but I would like to try and boost it even more.

    Would potency and brilliance stack?

And thank GDra, I take it that devotion and potency does not stack? Does Ardor and potency stack? My heals hit for 500 constant and I have hit some monks for 2K. So I am not too concerned with increasing that as 1 usually tops everyone off save a few Barbs that I have ran with.

Potency and bril do not stack.

Best gear to boost DP is a Superior Brilliance 5 clicky. Right now, the only source of them is through Cannith Crafting.

Arcane Lore will also help, but less than the clicky.

Right, Potency and Ardor(heals) or Brilliance(light) do not stack.
Superior Potency adds 50%, Superior Ardor/Brilliance add 75%

I did not suggest them because you didnt want to switch weapons.

As said, best way would be using Superior Ardor, Brilliance and then switch to something that will enhance your spell crit chance. (Arcane lore works on light spells and healing)

Potency effects all spells but will provide a lower +% (eg sup. pot. 5 will add +50% to level 5 & under spells, but a sup. brilliance 5 will add +75% to only light based spells of lv 5 & under)

Ardor is the same as any other clickie, superiour versions will add +75% to healing spells, but will not effect other types of spells.

As far as I know, there is no special crit item for light. You need to use the general arcane item. I am looking for clarification though:

    1) Brilliance V can boost the damage, but currently there are no Brilliance V items available in game. You can, however, craft one.

2a) Arcane Lore is the only item way to boost the crit chance of the spell
2b) Is arcane lore available on random gen items? I dont see any in AH. If not, what item would you suggest for it?

Crafters were selling superior brilliance V clickies on the AH. There might still be some but they were a bit on the pricy side.

    (1) Correct
    (2a) believe so, yes
(2b) not on random loot, though there are a number of options ... the most controllable way to get it (and not farm farm farm raid loot) would be something like the elfcrafted armors from gianthold (turn in 20 elf relics) ... there's also an arcane lore option on the new lord of eyes chain you can slot/craft for the items there ... those are probably the easiest and most accessible means for generic arcane lore

After that - a few raid loot items, blue dragonscale armors, tome of legend turn-ins, amrath sets, etc.
Ghallanda - now with fewer alts and more ghostbane

Hopefully, a while after crafting comes back prices will come down and they will be available. But really, for something like that I would not mind over paying. Right now the highest brilliance clicky on Sarlona's AH is III.

Thank you! Not quite sure what you mean by the arcane lore option on Lord of Eyes. I checked the wiki and couldnt find any mention of it. Do you have a link for describing what to collect/how to slot?

The last brilliance V I saw on the AH was a couple of days ago. Haven't check since, but the opening bid was 140k plat and the buyout was 200k plat.

I looked at it and decided it was too much for what I would pay for it.

The newest pack has a bevy of new collectibles, which you can use in the Altar of Insanity on certain specific armors from the last two packs. I don't know if DP has a max level cap, but if it doesn't the Infused Chaosrobe would help. Otherwise I'd go with the Fleshshaper's Brigandine, although I think that only drops as a chain reward.
