EPIC cutthroat small blade - viable weapon?

Is the epic cutthroat smallblade a viable weapon for end game?
The 2d6 base damage and 6% doublestrike does look appealing.
Is anyone using this? If so, how often does the corrosive salt attack hit and what did you place in the red slot?

Any feedback is appreciated.

Unfortunately, like most weapons meant for rogues... it falls short of what we really need.

Even tho it is a short sword, the crit range is the same as a rapier, which makes it nice.

Unfortunately, it simply doesn't replace a Lit II or a Rad II.

I don't see this viable end game for rogues... perhaps for monks who have short sword prof?

I personally love this weapon for my rogue. I did not take the feat: oversized two weapon fighting, so I use short swords in my offhand anyway (I know gimp, right?). It's my flavor. Having the higher base damage and crit range makes this a very nice weapon.

With that said, realize that all weapons are situational use only. I would not always use this weapon. When fighting bosses, I will be using dual +5 Holy Burst (metal type to break DR) rapiers of Greater Bane (depending on the boss) once I can craft them. With the +5 and the greater bane (+4) I won't have to worry about my to-hit penalty from not having oversized feat. If breaking DR is getting me too much aggro, then I'll swap back to my smallblade.

The decision is yours. I will continue to use radII main hand and small blade off hand (don't plan to make any litII's) for trash ... red slot with good most likely (haven't spent the tokens yet).
