    Default Cleric build required

    So I want to make a proper cleric. What do I mean by proper cleric? Great healing abilities, and beyond that - preventing damage in the first place by having superior crowd control.
    I am not familiar with the cleric crowd control spells but I was told that clerics can literally prevent damage for the group by using crowd control spells.
    I am not looking for a solo build, but a build that will contribute most to a good party.
    I Want it to be a pure cleric for the capstone (Unless you, the experts, say otherwise, and if you do please explain).
    I don't care which race to take, so you choose the best race.
    32 points build.
    Please try to give as much details as you can why you chose:
    1) Ability points
    2) Skill points
    3) Feats
    4) Enhancements
    5) Spells
    6) Fighting style (2hf, 2wf, weapon and board)
    7) Is it even possible to have such build?
    8) Is it possible to make a GOOD melee cleric? One that will heal and protect the group AND fight and deal some DPS?
    9) AC - needed or not? And if it is, how do I achieve high AC?

    I know it is a lot to ask, not only give the build but give details about it, but I really don't like to act like a robot, I like knowing why I am doing the things I am doing.

    Have a look at sirgog's cleric build guide, specifically his pure offensive caster cleric. It's a little outdated (hasn't been updated to include RadServ yet), but the basic principle is still the same: pure cleric, max WIS, stock up on metamagics, focus on boosting DCs & Spell Pen. Human is probably still best for the extra feat & +1 WIS racial enh, but can be made to work with any race.

    STR 11
    CON 15
    WIS 18
    CHA 14
    All level ups in WIS

    2) Skill points
    Concentration
    UMD

    any leftovers go to
    Balance

    3) Feats
    Maximize
    Empower Healing
    Toughness
    Heighten
    Quicken
    Spell Penetration
    *Improved Crit: piercing (or slashing, dep. on your choice of weapon)

    *Dump if you don't care about melee

    Last feat: your choice of:
    Extend,
    Empower,
    Spell focus: evocation
    Martial Weapon: Rapier/Scimi (if you too lazy to UMD Scroll of Master's Touch, or don't have access to it)

    4) Enhancements
    Radiant Servant II
    Human Adapt: CON
    Human Adapt: STR, or any other stat that makes it even numbered.
    All the racial toughness you can get
    Wand Scroll Mastery II

    *For melee boost,
    Divine Might III
    Human Versatility III or IV (Skill boost also helps with UMD, etc)

    *dump if you don't care about melee

    5) Spells
    List goes on and on. Play around you'll figure out what works and what doesn't.

    6) Fighting style (2hf, 2wf, weapon and board)
    mace and board until you get Improved Crit feat.
    then
    Holy bust of PG rapier or scimi in main hand, +10 seeker of pg in the other.

    7) Is it even possible to have such build?
    Sure.

    8) Is it possible to make a GOOD melee cleric? One that will heal and protect the group AND fight and deal some DPS?
    Load up a holy burst of pg rapier/scimi with icy burst, force crit, incandescence and you crit for 70 - 90 once every ~3-4 hits. You're still no where near anything compared a real melee, but you will be way better than that cleric running around with a mace and get a decent share of kills.

    Helps before level 10, useless afterwards.

    It is difficult to work in melee if you are new to the class since it takes your focus away from healing and crowd control. You may want to learn to play a pure casting one first, get a good feel of what works and what doesn't, then build a new one with melee. Pure casters can still help in melee with weapon effects (paralyzing, smiting, banishing, vorpals)
