For what it's worth, I stuck mine on my goggles while having my sp on my boots... it's worked okay, though I do have to give up con-op(boots) here and there.

On my wizard, I've put sp in the boots slot. While the boots slot has lots of swap-utility, this same feature makes it perfect for the sp-swap item.

Ah, I read your statement as using a single slot for both items. Some of the swapping issues mentioned still apply.

This is a decent setup, but I'm greedy and like both full-time.

Understandable - I did not make it clear either way in my post.

Also, on my wizard I do keep both on full-time (except ToD), mostly because I don't have anything better to put in the boots slot most of the time. I hope to one day, though!

Boots is a decent option for arcanes who can run haste whenever they want. Less of an option for divines, who need striding somewhere.

I use Air goggles for SP. It gives the +6 cha skills, 3 clicks of long duration haste, and only uses 2 devil scales.

Then I did blindness ward/disease immunity, +35 HP conc-opp bracers. Down 10hp doesn't bother me anywhere near as much as the immunities helps.

Trick with the bracer slot is that it removes a prime location to put your strength item. I went with the crystal cove ring/gloves for str/dex.

That's what I have on my bard, I really like this set up because you can always swap in something else after you use up the SP, like in ToD or if you just want to throw some striders on in a beholder field or something when you're not hasted.

He may be planning to wear boots of corrosion though. The main reason I gave up on an HP item for my melee FvS was that I wanted both claw set and abashi set (along with torc and a ToD set of course). I think the only way you could make both sets work and also have an HP item would be to use a gem of many facets, freeing up bracers slot for either your HP item, or for scorched bracers and then freeing up either your helm, boots or cloak. But then that rules out litany.

We need more slots...why can't I wear rings on every finger darn it?!
