My group did it the other day. It took longer (35m or so), of course, but wasn't that much more difficult. Just have someone who can disable those wheel traps, or someone with high enough saves and HP to survive a blast.
There have already been numerous changes in Big Top over the updates, removing "stuck spots" and altering terrain. I expect more to happen.
You can put an augment in the Red/Blue/whatever slot of some epic items.
You can clear out that slot if you want to change the augment by putting 3 epic tokens along with the item in the altar to get rid of your current augment.
This is especially useful if you are shuffling your gear around and end up with repeated effects.
Shade, I think the only thing Epic crafting really requires is Luck and maybe some good friends guildies... My point is based on a Ecrono run with a guilde - thier first run of crono, let alone epic... They got the gauntlet scroll, someone passed them the seal and the shard during the quest (or they had them drop for them - i forget) and found a pair of gauntlets in the end chest... first run of Epic, able to get the item...
I know this is faaaar from the norm, but it is possible and i bet has happened more than once. So really it is luck that determines epic crafting success.
This is why i think the CC was so popular and successful ... oops that's a bit philosophical...
regular augments like +6 to stat, toughness, GFL, sold from the vendor for tokens are permanent until removed from the item by clearing it.
Wanted to let you all know that the augment slot clearing recipes for the Crystal Cove items have gone in and will be live with U11.
Boy, you guys are brave to openly talk about so many exploits...![]()
When there is no official definition of what is/isn't an , there will arise situations where many of us will end up doing something cheesy that doesn't reach the level of what we understand to be an .
If we could get an updated list of what is/isn't kosher, I know I would certainly appreciate it.
Here are a couple of things that are exploits as far as I know:
1) getting into some glitchy part of a terrain feature where you can attack, but enemies are not able to attack back (just standing out of reach of enemies that have no ranged attack doesn't count)
2) doing something to make an enemy just stand there and not fight back (unresponsive) so that you can beat on them with no danger to the party.
Here are a couple of thigns that are not exploits as far as I know:
1) skipping monsters in a quest if those encounters aren't needed for the quest's completion (running past enemies with invisibility or simply going around them if that is possible)
2) jumping up to a ledge or whatever so that an enemy that only has melee attacks can't hit you or forming a meat shield to keep a melee-only enemy away from the party member with aggro that is pew pewing from a distance.
3) getting aggro and then running to a safe place where neither you nor the enemy can attack each other (leaving the cube room in Coal Chamber, for instance) so that you can wait for something else to happen without having to worry about that one particular enemy.
4) getting through a quest more easily by jumping, leap of faith/abundant step/wings of air savant-ing to a place where most people can't get to (the left hand "eye" in Weapons Shipment, etc.)
...but when it comes right down to it, I could have the exploit/non-exploit status on any of those backwards and I don't have any way to actually know.
I don't mind at all that Turbine doesn't publish a list of exploits, but when you guys don't even have a list of "these kinds of things are naughty" available in the forums in anything other than a non-sticky several year old thread, then I'm not at all surprised when people get confused over questions on whether something is an exploit or not.
Just tested this with my Epic Brawling Gloves that had +6 Wis added and is now a Empty Yellow!(Standard): Stone of Change success with Item Restoration! Consumed: 3 Epic Dungeon Tokens. Created: Epic Brawling Gloves. Epic Brawling Gloves becomes Epic Brawling Gloves.
Great job G! and thanks!
