Fixes the issue you were having with the 1xp shards while still giving a small bonus for deconstructing all items on a single character (and gives me a reason to not be upset over purchasing more shard bank space .)

I have leveled crafting without the low level shards "over 9000" clicks and I agree on the 0 xp for first level shards... the rest is up for discussion

Honestly it doesn't make a big difference at that point though. The main reason people used the deconstruct for xp was on the low-end shards. The number of deconstructs it would take to matter won't happen if you don't get enough materials back to continue making more shards, which only happened at t1.

I'm not saying I'm against xp on the t2+. I am saying that if it's easier to implement with no xp on any of the deconstructs that it really doesn't hurt that much anyways.

as i understand it, you should still get exp for deconstructing random loot items, just not shards or crafted items (that is, the release notes state that you no longer get exp and plat for deconstructing shards and crafted items, while random items you find in chests have no such mention - this could be dev oversight in the release notes i suppose though)

That is a correct reading of the release note. "Fresh" items will still grant deconstruction XP.

I'm ok with this but I'd prefer that +4 or +5 shards give some XP back. No one is going to be using those for the clicky click method.

Shard decon XP over the life of a crafter can easily add up to several levels worth of cXP.

I don't see why a 0/1/2/3/4 (or something similar) could not be implemented if a 1/2/3/4/5 worked.

The only part I do mind is the fact that numerous people have already benefited from the xp gain this way. So the rest of us will end up spending more essences and such to get to the same level.

It was by far the most efficient use of materials to just get that 1xp over and over and over and over again.

Ah, there was no point at which decon didn't give xp? I'd think they'd have made it so that it depended on the level of the shard vs. the crafter level.
