Ironically, I think it is harder now. I assume they've lowered the coin position to prevent FvS and Monks from never leaving the final half-pipe and doing some serious farming. The side effect is that if you time everything well, you'll go sailing right over the last set of coins. So it's actually harder than before if you're doing things right. If you jump correctly, you'll need to float down to the last purple, which is strangely difficult to do. The best way right now is to intentionally ditch speed on the final half-pipe. So it's a slower and more frustrating process.
If they did it to help people get more of them, they'd have positioned them differently. Right now, it's right in between the low and high jump...which is the worst possible placement.
Ok for those like me who have a tendancy to overshoot the purple, here is my easy fix for it.
When you are jumping from the 2nd and 3rd ramp and you are still moving a good speed look for the 2nd block on the upramp and jump there instead of the 3rd block this will line you up perfect to get all 3 if you timed it right if not you might overshoot the blue and hold back the back arrow and land on the purple. (you might have to feather the back arrow you know press release press and so on).
Jumping from the start of the 2nd block up I have almost always get the purple the few times I dont is when I have mast jumpers get the coin right before I hit it.
