I understand everyones sentiment about this working across the board for all tomes. However, +4 tomes are pretty much the holy grail of tomes atm. +3 can be earned/found via raids and 20th completions moresoe then +4. +2 drop like candy in comparison to +3 & +4 and can be bought via turbine. im not bothering with +1's
As such, while I won't argue with anyones position as to it working for all tomes, I think a +4 is rare enough to quantify its own special keepsake ability.

It would still better than it is today. As it is, we might potentially keep multiple +3/+4 tomes for each stat in the bank without using them at all.
At least this way, I would have no reason to loot the 2nd +3/+4 tome once I already had one, and would offer it up for roll.

I only have one... and it's crazy that it sits in my bank, never to be used...
Because things change...
I had thought about using it, because I feel that TRing past the first TR is too much grind...
And then Turbine made some changes to exp in U11, so maybe double+ TRing won't be so bad, so now I'm glad I haven't used it... Because now I'll probably TR once or twice more...
But will I ever use it? Probably not until I get a duplicate.
It's just silly that it sits there in my bank.
My perfect idea:
You eat a tome, and it becomes permanently attached to your character and does not destroy upon using.
If you eat a new tome with a bigger plus, it over-rides the tome previously used and destroys it, then the new tome becomes permanently attached to that character.
The tome only gets applied once the character reaches the proper level to actually use it.
With this idea, they keep the idea of having to keep using tomes, but people who obtain +4 tomes are able to keep them safely.
It shouldn't be hard to implement, just create a tome variable in each stat that holds the highest tome used.
