    Default OHHHH NOOS. It's impossible

Shroud run I have the star. We take the 1st 12. We're doomed to fail it's impossible to finish we have no fighters or barbs. We have 3 casters, 1 pally, 2 healers, (thanks to Emili getting her cleric) and the rest are rogues. Emili is brave enough to volounteer to heal and swithces from her caster before I could offer to get mine (I think she was on her caster). Not many noobs would give the group a chance. No fighter or barb it's impossible to finish. It can't be done. Long story short Harry dropped like a portal in parts 4 & 5 and it went off without a hitch, no deaths, etc.. In a straight PUG.

So we do another run. This time it's the same thing exept it's monks instead of rougues. Still no barbs and only one fighter. End result? The same thing. Harry didn't drop quit as fast but close to as fast. No deaths, no issues.

But wait Mr. noob says we can't do it we need a tank!
If the toon is named after a beer 17 of them are mine & 1 more not named after a beer (the black sheep of the family). Beware there are a few beer imposters out there. Unless the toon has been "Banned From All Guilds" it's a fake Beer_Dude. Fake Beer in your group leaves a nasty taste.

It cracks me everytime my rogue is declined because DPS is needed (in Cannith, but still).

And everyone glad when that 25% fort 400HP fighter join in, "Phew, we'll be ok, now that we got a DPS".

Couldn't be more true. I just don't get that fact that when some tard says we need a tank they think the fighter that joins is going to have a minos helm and started wit at least a 14 con.

The reality is the dudes a tard & used con as adump stat and has no heavy fort item. It's amazing how often you see that. Yet they will declind the 500 HP str based rogues w/ heavy fort and UMD to get them out of a jam, and lets not forget the nice DPS from backstab.

Yes sadly it's true the portals were the longest part of the quest but we still had no portal keepers pop up. Can you say smiters anyone. They are the great equalizers for portals especially pink ones. You gotta love pink LOL.

I'm not sure how we got by w/o barkskin either.

The Shroud Guide I wrote (in german) sais: The Raid goes just as fine with Rangers, Monks and Rogues as it does with Fighters, Barbs and Palas. The only things that matter are enough HP, heavy fort and beaters, (along with ears and a brain ).

I was joking. Somehow "tank" still means intimi turtle tank for me.
Its not that much slower anyway.
I was once in a full PM elite shroud, with some first timer.
The portals wend down pretty fast (i tought it will take forever).
Summons, ice storms, free SLA-s add up fast.

So this is why one of your guildies declined my rogue for [nothing else than] "Enter The Kobolds"! A quest I solo dozens of times with this very rogue (evasion owns this quest).

On my cleric, I had a shroud with 4 rogues and a few monks recently and it went as smooth as usual...

The only time I was really mad at a gimp class setup was on my only hard PuG shroud so far, we had 2 rogues and 2 rangers and it turned out they were 2 repeaters and two AA. Trying to surround Harry on hard with 2 S/B pallys and a single barb is no fun... The TR barb practically had to solo him...

I used a lot of pots in that raid but only because I really wanted the favor at that time.

Default Fastest Shroud I've ever seen

23 minutes from start to finish. We had 5 monks, 3 arcane casters, 2 Clerics, a rogue, and a fighter. It was a beautiful thing!

I think that you may have been in our run tonight as that was the exact makeup of our group. Just know that they're doin runs in less than 10 minutes now from what I hear.

On Orien, it's Pure Rangers, or Capped Clerics with 1 level of Fighter

Of course you meant a FvS to take down the portals? and Harry

DPS was needed in past years - now casters dominate.

    This. Right here.

I got declined out of a EDQ2 because they were just looking for "front line melee."

My rogue has 457 unbuffed hp (still need to throw toughness into an epic slot), but can reach 600+ hp if I really need to, and 41-56 STR. I hope they got the 20 fighter from that epic chrono run with less than 500 hp, only 75% fort, wielding Terror, and the Stormreaver's napkin.

Not mention improved evasion with a decent reflex save negates a ton of damage taken from the blade barriers and spells in that quest.

The only thing I really worry about in putting together a PUG shroud is that the healing is somehow covered (don't care how, just that it is). Anything else should be fine as long as people listen and follow directions.

Shroud two nights ago we had 4 arcanes, 2 FVS, 1 cleric, at least 1 AA, and 4 random melees. That's right, only 4 melee characters in a Shroud. I was the noob saying the portals will take longer (they didn't really). Harry dropped before the blades closed in part IV, and part V was smooth as butter.
