Default Ladder hitching and spiked pits.

I've been wondering if the ladder hitching is actually related to a bad ladder. I've been thinking it is more of a sync problem between me and the server. Not totally sure and would like to prove it some way but I don't know how to go about doing that.

I've hitched on a ladder that I've had no problems with before so it make me wonder what the real problem is.

Players have gotten into the habit of jumping onto the ladders to avoid the hitching problems.

Spiked pits however tend to present a different problem. I've taken damage jumping onto ladders to avoid the hitching part.

I don't want the spikes in the pit removed but I'd like to see the spikes pushed slightly away from just the ladder so that we can do our jump onto the ladder.
Disappointed and without trust in the powers that be.

Default I tend to see the hitching become more prevalent when jumping onto the ladder

not real sure why, but it has made me pretty much stop jumping onto the ladders it had gotten so bad.

Some of the ladders were/are bugged, not sure what the confluence of factors is that makes the hitching occur as I too have went up and down the same ladder at various times with different toons and had times when I hitched and times when I didn't.

And that's with spike pits, we are lucky not to have other of the nastier pits in D&D like black tentacles, quicksand and insurance salesmen.

    Brilliant!

Gordy - A Tribe Called Zerg - Cannith
    Agordmil - Agordmils - Byoh - Crocodylia - Schrödingers - MooseAlert - Zufallig - Mooselicker
Solo ToD (Arcane) no pots preMotu

i guess a good example would be rainbow in the dark, i do agree.. what i hate is.. when i am at the later.. i am climbing out im pretty much safe! and somehow one of the spikes hit me.... some of them inside of rainbow do need to be raised in my oppinion cause even some if u just walk near them u'll be hit.. which isnt very fair if ya think bout it partially. this hitching problem is a mess, i remember doing "The Pit" and i was at the top of one of the furnaces and was just bout to get the latch and i back lagged/hitched down the ladder and it actualy made me climb off it... which realy ticked me off :/ so yea... hitching is a issue.. and i think that there should kinda be like some form of consideration form the makers involved so that even if they have attempted to fix the problem.. so that.. when it does occur... it doesnt cause u to pretty much fail.. like.. i guess u can call it a "guard rail" kind of thing just as a back up for the hitching fix...

Bingo. You'll also see the same style of hitching if you jump a lot. One moment you are sort of floating along then suddenly you are about 10 feet from where you were if the game had been drawing your actual 'flight' path.

In fact if you "stop" moving, you'll end up exactly where the server thinks you should be, and not where the client was telling the server where you really are. "Server position overrules" is one method to keep players from cheating. You'll also see the same "position" rules happen when you are running by mobs as the game keeps putting you behind them even though you've clearly passed them.
