Its not actually as expensive as you think OP, you can always find bargains, both on the AH and in the Market or Harbor mailbox. some of these old timers have so much dosh that when they get stuff on their alts they just clearance it and there's also no shortage of loot runs through raids and such.

Yea for deals I have picked up some nice Daxes so far for cheap. Even some pretty cheap tomes for my build. I just feels strange to not have the basics im use to getting for cheap. I guess who needs immune items when I can just pot myself to obesity. +2 items? What a joke, just get by on some +4 buffs till it all rolls my way. Thx for the welcome.

Yes, prizes may be high.

But on the other hand there are lots of common low and mid level things used by high level toons or for alts by Vets swimming in money and having no time to farm them 'themselves. You can easily make money on a new char with a) collectibles for crafting b) deconning vendor trash and selling essences and c) SP-pots, thus using the inflated prizes forr your own income.

You also have to realize that Khyber also has drazinyourpants™ brand products. Pretty much anything you buy has draz on it as it tends to get everywhere. Thus the typical Khyber markup of products.

man i think the highest i've ever got was 300k plat
and then sudddenly dissappears after i saw my repair bill and some cool stuff at the auction. Jeeze i need to stop dying on my wizzy sigh
