Khyber Whats With Your Eco?

So, I just started playing on this server. While I have played some DDO still pretty new and just started on the Khyber server. While I have a lvl 13 on Orien and a lvl 10 on Cannith thats about as far as my experience goes. Even compaired to those servers tho I cant seem to get ahold of even simple leveling items in AH on Khyber. Then when I find even basic stuff they are extremely over priced. Just simple +2 stat or Blind/Poison/Disease immune items that a level 4-6 toon could use cost 25kpp+. Whats the deal guys? Everyone just rich on Khyber and im just behind?

We have more plat than the Devs...half the server has strippers in the Golden Wing Inn on a rotating schedule...

I have noticed that Khyber is the Beverly Hills of Servers. You pay more for the same. It has been that way for some time. Partially it is because there lots of very rich folks on the server, and partially because that is just how the economy washed out.

I will also say that folks on Khyber are far more likely to sell you an item out of the chest (face value) if you pug with them and they don't need it, so it is not all bad. A few decent pugs and you are set.

Finally- I normally have a hard time getting guildies to take money, and visa verse. I have noticed, from the days when Khyber was known for two things:

A) Lag
B) Not talking to strangers/being secretive

(Note: this was long before the Khyber Drama rep)

That Khyber tended to be very generous to their guildies.

comparing this server to orien and cannith is apples to oranges. The Khyber economy has been around many more years than cannith or orien and thus inflation has been here longer and if you much about inflation you will find that the longer it has been around the more everything will cost.

This may or may not be some of it, but did you consider that the new crafting system has driven up prices everywhere to some degree? (Hopefully, this will reverse in the long term once plat in the new plat sink actually drains down some.)

So this is a much older server huh? That makes sense, and really as to Cannith Crafting thats the only thing above Festival coins that has kept me afloat thus far. Even for a newbie deconstruction for a chance at a greater worth 500pp is much more than what you will get at a vendor for a handful of lame elemental touch weapons. Also being an older server I imagine most people have little starter sets and thats what keeps them out of the AH, lack of need.

Op, you just found your way to the High end of DDO servers.

This is the deep end of the pool compared to Orien and Cannith where you came from.

Khyber is an old economy with players who have been here 5+ years.

OP. This is a little before my days, so it is hazy. Gornn smote the Earth with His Staff of the Petitioner, and into this void went Riedra. But those of Riedra of Good Heart found solace in Khyber. And they now lay with us, and leave their garments with us on a regular basis...or so it is written...

Anyway OP that partly explains the economy here maybe a little bit. Orien was never merged with any other server. Khyber has been around.

They are easy to buy for 450-500pp, except Divines which are hard to find under 1k PP.

Yea, seems like everyone knows everyone lol. Guess I will just pike my way through on my Axesinger till I can find the gear. At least I come bearing buffs! Hastes and Songs for all! Suppose I have healing wands to. lol
