That being said, some people, including myself, just sell off all trash, or use it for crafting. For the nicer things, I'll usually throw it on the AH for an under market price, so I know I won't have to get it back in 3 days. I probably get as much as I would from a vendor, but someone shopping the AH, gets a nice shiny for a good price. (i.e. +5 thieves tools, muckbanes, holy weapons, Invulnerability Robes, Secret Door clickies). I have all I need of that stuff, so why not pass it on.
Why someone would pay 50k for a mod fort robe (especially since WF can't use robes) is beyond me. Is 50k gouging? That's another long-debated topic. I am in the, what the market will tolerate camp. But, that is WAY above the norm. The poster will most likely get the robe back when it expires without a bid. It still amazes me, after all this time, people will still spend the time trying to get unreal prices for everyday stuff on the AH, but they must be getting it some of the time.
