Default build challenge!! Bring your best need ideas

Ok so here's the deal I need some help from a few of you multi-class build gurus. Looking to make a completionist build and take advantage of a few things but keep running into hick ups. So I wanted to know what some other options might be.

    Requirements:
rogue- need to be able to handle epic traps. Gear i have to help epic utility vest and epic spyglass all other equip is up in the air at this moment.

Feats- completionist, entire 2wf line, toughness, would like pally and rouge past life feats and maybe 1 more (see what flavors we can come up with and why)

Basics- would like to see hp with no items around 400+

Race- Your best choice and why

Weapons- obviously kopeshes would give the best damage but whatever will work best with the build

saves- saves vs traps around 30 would be nice i will have 3 past lives rogue to help.

also put in any other past lives you need beyond the completionist requirements to get to whats being asked.

best ive come up with so far is 13 fighter and 7 rogue and it was close to what i was looking for just looking for something possably better

I would probably go something like a Human 12 Fighter/6 Rogue/2 Monk and grab all 3 Dragonmarks and hope that the proposed changes to the Epic Chimera's Fang go through.

Alternatively, you could make an Exploiter build but use Bastard Swords and take Completionist, but you might have fewer hitpoints than you were shooting for.

I started messing around in a character planner but stopped...

I'd suggest human because you're going to need the feats (based on what you say you want), the skill points don't hurt, and humans can get both an increase of strength and Racial Toughness III with Greater Adaptability: Constitution. Healing amp too, of course.

I'd suggest mixing 12 levels Fighter, 7 levels Rogue, 1 level Monk as an alternative. The monk level gives you better saves and another feat, as well as some AC (when wearing robes), without really giving up anything much (1 BAB most significantly).

    Good luck, have fun.

Ok so here is what I came up with. I know I am asking allot with this build but figured I would give it a go and I'm close just need some help with the polish. Feel free to recomend feat swaps or changes that you think would be more beneficial since i was kind of looking for fillers at the end. Barb level is completely up in the air as well just thought it might be fun to have rage to use from time to time. Also when I did this I noticed Barbs get more skill points than fighters so maybe more lvls of barb? I will mess around with it but if someone beats me to it that would be fine as well.

with the gear i stated in my first post I get +20 so spot search disable and open lock and with +5 resist item traps save is right at 30 with +7 dex item it might be better.

Well tell me what you think and any gear suggestions you think might help. Would really like to give this a test run before I start doing the past live fillers as I am working on the completionist stuff right now just want time to iron out the kinks.

    Thanks ahead of time everyone

Pure rogue is brilliant, but the OP constrains the build to using a load of feats that become very hard to fit without free feats from classes (completionist, past life rogue, past life pally, and bastard swords). He also requires a high naked HP. If the player actually did get the 14+ lives done that would be required, including 3 rogue past lives, I suppose another benefit of a funky multiclass would be novelty. Hence the 12/6/2 and 12/7/1 suggestions for going Fighter/Rogue/Monk. The rogue levels are there for skills and sneak attack. 12 Fighter gives feats and the awesome Kensai II prestige. The monk splash could be replaced (as the poster wants to do) with barbarian, if he can do with less feats.

If he wanted to give it a rogue icon, I'd suggest 13 Rogue / 5 Ranger / 2 Fighter. This gives you a lot more rogue-ish stuff, including rogue-only feats. It gives you two Favored Enemies with +6 damage against them as well as Ram's Might (+2 strength, +2 damage) and one free feat (Two Weapon Fighting). Fighter rounds it out by giving you another two feats (and +1 Strength I guess). Yeah, Tempest I would be more damage on such a build, but it'd cost you too many feats to be doable, given the other ones you want. This would give you three more feats than a pure rogue.
White Fang (newbie-friendly build) - TWF melee dps with self-sufficiency and rogue skills.
California King - the hagglebot craftbot alt build, pure Arty leveling with two-handed weapons.

    I would probably rather have 13 Rogue/6 Ranger/1 Fighter than 13 Rogue/5 Ranger/2 Fighter.

You'd get ITWF for free and could situationally have very good Burst DPS with Manyshot+Haste Boost IV. You *could* even go Elf/Helf for AA, but that'd require more feats than you'd likely want to use.

I was thinking of either, just in terms of melee DPS the Fighter gets +1 Strength, but Manyshot is good. So yeah, 13 Rogue / 6 Ranger / 1 Fighter would work better if you made use of Manyshot.

Not all the OP asked for, certainly not for AC

Hps very close to 400 without any items and only using +2 tomes.

Saves will be good with the paladin levels.

    Kensei 2 Assassin I build.

Didn't have time to sort out the feat order, so Kensei is taken much later than needed, but STR and hps are buffed up with a good progression.

Speaking of AC, maybe the splash would be better as a monk than a fighter.

I don't understand precisely what he means by he needs an "AC of 40-50," as it'd be pretty hard -not- to be able to reach 40 AC with the right gear and buffs, on any build. But yes, if he wants meaningful AC, a monk splash is better.
White Fang (newbie-friendly build) - TWF melee dps with self-sufficiency and rogue skills.
California King - the hagglebot craftbot alt build, pure Arty leveling with two-handed weapons.

OP are you close to the completionist? Have you actually levelled a character up to 20? Have you ever played the end game or are thinking of playing the end game? Sounds like you just want to level over and over which is one way to play the game. Why don't you just ask for a triple completionist build for the year 2015?

U said you wanted to use twf and bastard swords? you know they only proc glancing blows when used one handed or S&B right?

bleh101-yea switched out of bastard swords on this didn't realize the glancing blow only worked on s&b(sucks).

luckness-40-50 ac I now realize is easily attainable so thats not a huge concern any more

madmatt- I am well on my way to completionist at this point have done about half of the classes and have run most endgame content as a rogue already. (i pretty much play just one character)

Just wanted to get a idea of where I might end up so I can start getting the appropriate gear as I go along although I am sure that will change with updates and all the additions to come

I'm not sure why someone would get 5 caster past-lives to play a toon without a spell bar?

Since you are wanting thieving skills I would think about wizard probably.

rog 2 ftr 4 wizard 14 (bab of 12 so take ftr 4 at 14 to get gtwf)

    feats
    twf * 3 (3 from ftr levels)
    toughness
    completionist
    past rog, past paladin
    SF necro, maximize, extend wizard
    GSF necro for vampire form
    power attack
    Bastard sword, otwf etc

    half elf
    str 16
    dex 15
    con 16
    int 15
    wis 8
    cha 8

And a variety of other multiclassed toons without vowels thnk/r/s/rbll/sgmp

How About 12/6/2 Fighter/Ranger/Rogue Human. For the sake of this build, I'll assume a full set of +2 tomes & access to +6 stat gear when capped.

    Granted Feats:
    Bow Strength
    Rapid Shot
    Many Shot
    TWF
    ITWF
    Diehard

    Taken Feats: (15)
    GTWF
    PA
    IC: Slash
    Toughness
    Completionist
    PL: Rogue
    PL: Paladin
    Extend
    WF: Slashing
    WS: Slashing
    GWS: Slashing
    and....
4 more feats of your choice
If you want AC... Combat Expertise, Dodge, TWD, & Toughness
If you want ranged... PBS, PS, IPS, IC: Ranged
If you want more skills... SF: Search, SF: Disable, SF: UMD, & Toughness
If you want HP... x4 Toughness
If you want ???... So many more possibilities.

    Base Atts:
    Str- 17 + 5 Level ups
    Dex- 15
    Con- 16
    Int- 13
    Wis- 8
    Cha- 8

    Progression:
    1: Rogue
    2-7: Ranger
    8-13: Fighter
    14: Rogue
    15-20: Fighter

    Skills:
Full points into Search, Disable, & UMD. Then as many as you can into Open Lock & Balance. (This should be possible. If not, it would be very close.)

    Enhancements:
Will possibly fill in later if you want more from this build idea.

    some solid ideas

Jeff- I'm assuming that lvl ups go into int? never thought of using wizy build either sounds like that could be fun but past lives would probably be a bit different. might have to flesh this one out a bit to see how it works

grieve- another solid idea am curious if with just 13 int if the dd could be high enough will have to go through this build as well to see what it comes up with. The number of feats you get is awesome though so it gives lots of options thats for sure

Keep em coming no matter how far out they might seem.

I have a rogue splash build that had a starting Int of 12 that can get most if not all traps with the right buffs & gear swaps. For the Trap gear, here's what I recommend.

Temporary Item: Epic Kundarak Delving Goggles (This item covers all the important trap skills in 1 item which is very clutch.)

    Final Setup:
    Epic Time-Sensing Goggles
    Epic Utility Vest
    GS Int Skills Item
    Ventilated Bracers
GS Dex Skills Item (If you need a boost to Open Lock. Also, this could be your GS HP Item as well)

thanks grieve I always forget about those skill stacks from gs. I have the utility vest already and could use the cove trinket in the mean time for the search and spot stuff. Still going to run the numbers and see how it goes just for grins and to work out the lvl order. Will probably make this one of the past life builds to do a test and see what else I might need to pick up or make.
