    Default T/P/F mix?

I was thinking of doing the following:

Level 1 Rogue. Just for the skills. I'd put everything into Search/Spot/Balance, etc. Things that would be useful for a heavily armed warrior.

Level 2-4 Paladin. For the 2xdaily Lay on Hands.

Level 5-20 Fighter. Specializing in greatsword.

It would give me the "feel" I'm going for, but it might be really gimped. I'm not an expert by any means on DDO classes.

Search is useless if you don't do traps. People usually take a rogue splash mainly for UMD and/or Evasion (and trap skills if they have enough skill points). 2 LoH won't give you much at higher levels.

Some combinations of these classes are common though: F12/P6/Ro2 can get Kensei II, KotC I, full umd and evasion, or SD II, KotC I, or Kensei II, SoD I. A variation could be F12/P7/Ro1 if you plan to keep a plate (i.e. no evasion), for 1 more AC from aura while keeping full UMD.
Rogue levels could be replaced by Monk levels for more feats (while loosing full UMD).
    Thelanis: Nassim* (F12/P6/M2) - Talienor** (P18/Ra2) - Feithlin** (F12/Bd7/C1) - Stoneoak* (F12/M6/P2) - Hokusai (M17/F2/C1) - Ardence* (Bd15/F3/Ro2) - Matsushiro* (Ro11/M6/P3) | Argonessen: Luneargent (W18/Ro2) - Talienor (Ro20) - Takshir (Bd16/F2/Ro2) - Hiacynthe (C20) | Ghallanda: A bunch of pre DDO Unlimited characters (field of testing for post U19 )

The Fighter and Paladin classes get too few skill points in order for you to keep up search/disable skills. But you do get enough to get a decent open lock score. So as long as you don't mind only being able to get locks, it should work for you.
    On Thelanis: Survo ... Wattr ... Tigerpalm ... Cranefist ... Hobbson ... Grayed ... Shadowstance ... Smashcut
