    Unhappy Sustaining Symbiote

Hello all. I'm curious, does anyone know that the Suppress Madness ability of Sustaining Symbiote (found in Fred's chest in the 2nd part of the new Lords of Eyes chain quest) is bugged? I cant find any thread regarding this problem. The thing is, when I put on the symbiote, it suppresses the madness ability just at the time. So when I get into tavern to increase back the sp lost (in this case, due to the armor's Power Drain ability), it did increase...but then suddenly it drops back. Same thing happen when ya rest. It applies to ALL other madness abilities. So to reset it back, needs to switch to other trinket, then back to it but doing that will still decrease the sp. In the, back to square one...

Is it a bug or it's intended to be as that? Thanks.

Pretty sure its a bug. I've watched my sp change spontaneously back down just sitting and not touching anything. It will also mysteriously jump back up sometimes without any gear swapping.

You should fill out a bug report - You can do that in-game, or on the forums here - http://forums.ddo.com/new_bug.php?

Do you have a spell aborbing item on, like the worldshaper cloak?

This is happening to me as well (no spell absorption on). What's more, I noticed because the Power Drain on my fleshcrafter docent was applying and not applying randomly, both while I was wearing the symbiont and while I wasn't. So it's not just that effect which is bugs, it is also the effects the symbiont is trying to suppress (unless it's only these effects, and their bugginess allows them to penetrate the symbiont's protection).

The suppress madness effect wears off after resting or staying in a tavern for 1 min or leaving a quest. Very odd.

I've had the same thing happen with Metal Fatigue, haven't tried/tested it on the other effects. But, the Fatigue still goes off.

    Nope.

I've wondered if 'Suppress' does not convey total immunity to the effects - but lessens the chances of the negative effects going off. If so, the description should be more clear.

I forgot that my chaos robes were doing the same thing before the symbiont. Although, it always happened after a shrine, quest complete, rez, or something of the sort, I never noticed it just change, just that it would be different sometimes after I did stuff.

With the symbiont, I have seen it change without any action at all.

    Default Sustaining Symbiont

I have equipped both the goggles and the trinket with my skills window open and while in a tavern. I have done this many times.
When equipping the trinket last;I have seen the supress feature work until a regen effect happens (Mantle, tavern, etc.) then fade away.
I however have never seen it come back into effect after it fades (...without equipping again).
I have done a few combat tests looking for results (eg madstone boots). So far the effect hasn't changed.

I have went from a public area into a wilderness area then into a quest instance and back into the wilderness area.
I have done this many times in different areas and in varied combos the suppress effect stayed active through all.

I believe it could be a bug but if it were intentional that the feature is to be countered by regen effects then I
must say that is a good one.

    Bravo devs! Thats pretty funny.

    Default SS + Polycurse Daggers

I noticed when dual wielding Polycurse Daggers with the Symbiote in place I never get cursed. However, if I switch to another weepon set that includes only one of my PC Daggers I ended up drinking 3 curse pots. There were caster type gnollish mobs around (Rainbow in the Dark) though.

Default Polycurse Dagger + SS too

same deal...effect goes away.. sounds like one just needs to do a trinket swap to fix it though so not a huge deal. just gotta carry extra curse pots for when i forget to swap.
