Default I don't believe Mournlands actually exists

    Think about it . . . it's fictional.

Nobody can talk about it, testers cannot even admit they are testers.

There is NO WAY any player giving feedback wouldn't give the same reaction we did over the crafting changes. T

Hmm... Interesting thought. You would think that they would have had the same reaction that we all did to the new crafting changes. Which would have probably at least led the devs to at least give us a preview without it being "too late to stop."

OR - it is all a bunch of "YES" men

OR - Turbine just does not care about what testers have to say

OR - The "testers" are players with no real clue about the game, and are given everything so they would say "whats the big deal"

I think there are only four possible explanations for this.

    1. Mournlands really doesn't exist.
    2. Mournland players don't react the same as us, due to the nature of being part of a select group
    3. The developers didn't listen to what the Mournland players said.
    4. These recipes weren't actually previewed on Mournlands.

Still, it does leave some very strong questions about why even have Mournlands.

I think it exists... I just think that a policy of cherry-picking a cabal of sycophantic yes-men to provide the first line of crucial feedback is a flawed one, and one that has failed the game time and again.

Also the supposed nature that having existing Mournland players recommend other players could have some serious consequences on the quality of testers.

Someone needs to write an expose on this topic.

But the other possibility would be Turbine staff and they'd be accused of favouritism.

    Catch 22.

    I believe it exists.

I just believe that all evidence points to it being a negative influence on the game and not a positive one.

based on what evidence? The recent releases prove there is no QA.

The middle one would sound most plausible to me.

A complete and total and unproven guess.

This. Please imagine I put a funny picture here, since it is a response to a Memnir post.

    It could be both.

Though, for what it's worth, I'm positive Mournlands does exist. However, I'm not quite so sure if the server is used properly. Especially since so little is spoken about it, and what is very vague or hush-hush.
