Default Let the Raid Loot Greed begin!!

    1. These changes are a first for DDO a huge swing away from favoring f2p players, and now put crafting in the hands of the end game grinders only. This is me, but it hurts the game, so it will go away.
    2. Every piece of raid loot will now be contested by anyone that crafts....if anyone feels like crafting after this change.
    3. This honestly continues the line of disconnect certain developers have with the game. They just don't understand the landscape and that is sad.
    4. Got to love it...end gamers now get crafting, you know what? I would rather have end game new epic content at my disposal, then a monopoly on crafting, thanks DDO....but no thank you.........

RIP Crafting we hardly knew you

This is from someone that is 88/82/82 on crafting and actually thought they were making progress with something, guess I stand corrected.

Perhaps a bit of explanation. I am confused by this, did something new happen and I missed it?

Massive crafting nerf - many common rescipies now require rare or raid loot to craft

Take a look at all the crafting threads. Greater banes now require raid loot, the most notable being GLOB needing a dreamspitter, or a greater halfling bane needing a chattering ring.

With such a high cost for crafting greater halfling bane shards, it would seem that Stormreach will become overrun by halflings. All of us taller characters will now have to stoop anytime they want to go to a vendor or the bank. It will be bad for our backs. It looks like halflings maybe are the master race now. Time to roll a halfling I guess.

Just did the reading. Appears I will not be crafting, not going to say more than that.

What I want to know is what kinda halflings are we getting in the next update that would justify farming then using a chattering ring to make a shard for?

They better be bad arse make the duergers look like wimp types for sure.

They've all secretly been running Epic Purge the Heretics without us and now their +4 Unholy Burst Byeshk Light Hammers of Greater Halfling Bane are going to be impossible to make now.

    /sarcasm

Honestly, I wouldn't waste a lesser essence on a Greater Halfling Bane shard unless it was a cheap easy way to get crafting exp, so it's not like it actually changes anything. >1% of the population has a Chattering Ring, >1% of the population will want to make a GHB weapon. None of the former will use their rings for the latter.

Either that, or it's a subtle tip at the end Boss for an upcoming Epic Raid.

"The ground trembles and lightning flashes across the sky. A small, halfling-sized figure with bare, hairy feet emerges from the dimensional portal in front of you. It's a halfling, in fact, and it begins to speak.

I'm only in the 50s in crafting. I would quit crafting instantly and not really care at this point.

What would **** me off, is that when I'm gearing toons, I wont even get to roll on loot. I have terrible luck, and it takes me a long time to get any decent raid gear. And when I do get it, it's almost ALWAYS on a roll or passed by a generous guildie or friend.

Now we'll have a lot of people pulling bound gear for crafting instead of putting it for roll. Depending on the final list of named items, I would pretty much give up rolling new toons. And if TOD rings found their way on the list, I would most likely give up on the game all together.

This is a ridiculous idea, and will do nothing but **** off users.

I guess now we can see how well turbine actually listens to the players, but I'm assuming it's not at all considering the problems with handwraps after all the complaints(Crafted not working properly, banes not working, dr breakers still way too rare).

lovely how a change not only kills crafting but also completely kills any desire to run a raid outside of Shroud because no one will pass named items any more. Great Idea! :thumbs up: :sarcasm:

Luckily I love my guildies so I will have no problem passing raid loot or named loot to them, and I hope they extend the same courtesy to me. PUGs however can die in a fire before I put anything ever up for a roll. Ever. Even if the changes DON'T go in like they are. Who knows what they MIGHT do in the future. Now I feel foolish for selling all my gems instead of hoarding them like I did with my collectibles. Next update might require 1734 star sapphires or something equally stupid. But I bet you can buy em from the Turbine Store!

    WOO!

Actually I can't remember the last time I pugged a raid.

And how am I being a ******bag to them if I am keeping loot that dropped for me? Everyone has the same chance and rolls the same dice to have a shot at named loot. If I happen to get lucky, YAY ME! They can run it again and try next time. By putting something up for a roll I was going out of my way to be nice. But if I am going to be punished for niceness (in terms of needing specific raid/named items to craft) then I won't be nice. I won't be mean, but I'm not gonna be nice.

Actually my FvS already has 2 pairs of madstone boots, so I am well on my way to being able to craft..... SOMETHING!

I'm glad that instead of fixing bugs or designing new content, turbine has instead decided on a big ol FAK YOU to anyone who invested time or I dare say Turbine points into this POS system.
On that note, I'm also glad I didn't invest in crafting.

It would be really hilariously sad to say require 10 gems of many facets for a recipe. I think I've passed 100 of those.

Yeah no doubt. I think I have 8 or 9, and use exactly 0 of them.
