    Bingo.

They added these to the game for a reason. They're btc or bta (can't remember which) and will serve as a perfectly fine bottleneck to creating shards.

They also need to think about LEVELING crafting and leave some recipes as-is to give a path to leveling.

We will make changes. Unfortunately, they will not be made in time to alter the upcoming patch. As you know, the system is still in beta and we will effect changes as soon as we can.

Our apologies and thanks for the swift, clear feedback.

We'll be free to continue to use our already-made greater banes, to make more before the update, and even to make and stockpile important greater banes we might someday want to use so that we never have to pay the significantly increased costs.

On the other hand, if you're a new player or have had less time to play or the like, you're screwed: Many of these costs are just hilarious (a chattering ring for one of the least-useful greater bane effects the game's got? really??). I understand the desire to add another cost to these items (which are too cheap once you gain access to them), but this is an extreme change and I don't think it's going to be beneficial to the community at large.

If they want to require completing raids and adventure packs for crafting simply add more Mystical items to the game. Have a mystical item drop in each players name during the raid like trophies in TOD or a chest with a mystical item in it like the dagger in Threnal. Requiring rare named and raid loot not guaranteed to drop from the packs does nothing but make a grind and is insulting to the players. And requiring items made from rare collectibles like Tome Pages is well beyond reasonable.

I think the devs that came up with it should be forced to farm tome pages so they can see what its like, and not with the godmode toons they have on Lamania with all the uber gear.
