Is this real or a joke!?
I thought crafting would eliminate the constant shroud grind but its like a bad weed that keeps popping up. WHY!?
No to shroud ingredients
No to epic tokens (unless for epic items)
No for any ingredients from other crafting systems other then collectibles/alchemy crafting.

We cannot craft with or on premade loot... so therefore premade loot (any of it) cannot be used in crafting recipes period..... if you wish to use collectables of any sort (collectables, relics, epic tokens, etc..) so be it... but if we cant craft to it or with it... then it CANNOT BE PART OF ANY CRAFTING RECIPES.... GOT IT DEVS???

i had thought about starting to devote a serious amount of intrest to crafting. . .but after reading the update all it did was give me the chance to listen to an amusing noise, of that notion flying past me
/signed for both raid and rare loot, and also boot materials.
With this update/patch, running raids will NEVER be the same again. Raids will become more or so crafting runs with a lot less items offered for roll. People running their crafter in raids will never offer raid loot and will definitely roll on what people offer, and will send tells to buy those items. Right now, one of the great thing of DDO is if you run a raid, and a player gets a raid item they don't need, said item will regularly be offered to everyone else in the raid for rolls. This will be over with this "brilliant" idea.
One another note, I see the high level recipies requiring 1 or 2 collactables, why not more of these instead of silly items requirements?

/signed and for boots and tokens and shroud ingredients as well. The grind for these are horrible enough as it is. Do you really want to separate your veterans players from your casual or new players this far? Nobody who can afford this stuff has much reason to make it.
Real life is a worse grind than any MMO.

But if you can deconstruct a few greater halfling bane items into a chattering ring for my rogue/monk that'd be win!
also, no to GS mats, no ToD Mats, no to tomes, maybe on Epic tokens. Use all those quest reward items like Mystic Broccoli you added to the system in large amounts. NOT FRIKKEN rare raid loot.

Yes, I always thought of this crafting as a way for people without a lot of raid gear to make items that could "keep up". That totally loses it's purpose when they have to obtain the raid item, to craft the item they were trying to craft, in order to avoid having to obtain the raid item in the first f'in place!!!!!! I'm waiting for the "Bazinga!!"

I am just gettting to the point where crafting is useful for me (Mid 30's level).
I don't get enough play time to farm all the stuff I need as it is...
Using "rare" drops will put this system out of reach for me

I add my stamp of approval here ... no way should raid gear be required to craft, or tomes for that matter. Heck, I feel like the cost of the ammount of essences is steep enough as crafting is now. I've spent over 3 mil plat to level my crafting so I could make these shards ... as if 3 mil plat isn't enough, now i've got to dump tomes and raid gear into it as well?
