I cannot fathom what exactly the devs were smoking when they decided to do this, either it was really good or really bad. Either way this is nonsense. Chattering Ring for Greater Halfling Bane? Huuh?

Crafting was to easy and needed to be changed but this is just stupid would be better off just not to have it all over having it with this change

If this goes through, I may leave the game.

This is officially the most ******** idea I've ever seen in an mmo or any other game I've played.

Whoever designed this idea, and whoever is approving it needs to come forth and apologize.

Turbine, you're dropping the ball here. I can understand needing to up prices for unbound crafting, but bound crafting? Seriously?

No for crafting with raid loot of ANY kind. If I can't farm for it, it shouldn't be included.

Epic tokens should be kept to unlocking items that can be given epic properties such as those we already have in the game.

Raid loot should not be required for a crafting recipe. That is insane. I already hate raiding unless I have a piece of loot I want and I hate it even more when it takes me 20 runs to get what I want.

Crafting is already enough of a grind, don't make it the ultimate grind. The game does not need more of that. It has quite enough already thank you.

    This is a stupid change.

It is already one of the most resource intensive grinds in the game to get to the point where you can make these items.

    Sigh...

Stuff like this can be avoided if the Devs were to "COMMUNICATE" ideas like this before wasting time on bad ideas.

    A simple post like:

We are currently thinking of using Raid and Name items as needed crafting components in higher tier recipes.
How do the DDO community feel about this idea. Should we proceed or scrap the idea?

Nope they go for the shock and awe and wasted time, again.

Wounder who on the The Mournlands server thought this was a great idea or do the devs not even listen to them either.

When they retract this proposed ridonkulous change, after all the chaos (including the new desire to loot every piece of raid loot), you know what the chorus line will be right?

This is a horrible idea that will destroy peoples generosity in raids. Instead of a Dreamsplitter going to a caster or acrobat builds that can use it as a weapon now everyone will take one to craft banes with. What are the devs thinking. If you want to require raiding to craft add mystic items to the completion list of raids DON'T require the crunching of raid items.

As random as the raid 20th completion lists are it could take a year to get the item you actually need to craft the item you want.

My mind is just blown by the amount of disconnect with the reality of the game and the devs that make it. This is just wow... so disappointing and infuriating.

Way to put something in the game people have been clamoring for and then DESTROY it.

I was not into the crafting to begin with but this will end it for me for sure.

On the plus side it's not "live" yet so it can still be changed.

I WOULD be ok with this if it just meant I could quit crafting and avoid it, but now I'll have no chance of getting any raid loot. I have terrible luck, and never pull anything. Everything I have has been passed to me by roll or by paying for raid loot with flawless reds.

It's going to make gearing any of my toons impossible. I'd probably just give up playing, depending on what items are going to be harder for me to get.

Now, if these were just alternate recipes that required fewer essences if you had a rare item, that'd be fine. For example, if you could swap out 150 lesser fires for a Giant Stalker's Knife (or something), but weren't required to use the knife, fine. But don't force rare items into the recipes. That just sucks.

I recently came back to DDO after quite some time away. I have enjoyed the new content, races and classes quite a bit. but I don't have the time to devote to constant raids like some people do. so the introduction of the crafting system was absolutely ideal for me. my highest level in any school is around 30 and it has taken a good amount of time and effort to get there. I don't buy crafting items or enhancements with TP points but scrap less expensive items gained through questing.

I knew it was going to take a very long time to get into the upper levels but I was okay with that. it was finally a way for me to get some decent items for my various characters. have to say that if this goes live and stays live, I may have to consider another vacation from DDO, especially with some of the upcoming releases in other computer worlds. at the very least, it would probably push me to cancel VIP status and just play from time to time on the FtP side of the house.

and to think, just last week I was praising Turbine for providing more options for their player base than some of the other grind fest MMOs out there. this change would alter that perspective about 180 degrees

but history has shown that when stuff is on lamania it's pretty much on its way into the game with little to no changes.

Holy **** what a terrible change. Geez.

Raids and Crafting should be seperate, but in some ways equal. IE two paths to get to the same goal.

I already dislike the crafting system as it is and this would just kill it for me.

ToD Boot mats - NO, low drop rate can make it challenging to even boot a single toon. I am tired of running the same Amrath quest 340 times to get an artifact
Rare Raid Items and Tomes - Laughable at best, very insulting at worst

This is not what crafting is supposed to be I understand some of the recipes were too easy.....

I spent 4 million plat getting to level 65 in all schools not to mention the opportunity cost of deconstructing every single item I've looted since crafting came out. The recipes SHOULD BE LOW COST after that kind of time and resource investment. Even so a recipe for a shard costing 80 greaters and 192 lessers is roughly 160k plat in value for just that single shard. Still not inexpensive.
