Alternate conspiracy theory 1...The economy has stabilized. Frantic crafting leveling has pulled enough plat out of the economy to nearly revert the cove plat fiasco... so they are putting the plat sink on emergency hold via extraordinary measures.
Alternate conspiracy theory 2...The brokers have grown tired of looking at empty shelves and have somehow harnessed all the new XORIAT powers to mind wipe the devs.
I vote for #2. The devs are now in straight jackets and padded rooms in the Sane Asylum. And Nurse Rachet is calling the shots.

Absolutely. About a year ago a friend of mine told me about how he was keeping all of his collectibles in case they ever became useful. I called him a crazy hoarder. I was wrong. Then I heard about people keeping named useless items in case they every became useful, or the pack went epic. I still though this was a bit crazy, but it did make me think twice before vendoring my named trash from gianthold. Now this.
Devs, you have irreversible changed DDO for the worse with this system. The sooner you reverse this, the less damage there will be.

I think it important that people not meekly go along with some half way retraction of this nonsense.
Selling loot in the DDO store is not a good thing and that is the entire intention of the 'purified' shard. Having raid loot or otherwise rare lower level loot as part of recipes is not a good idea for a multitude of reasons.
All of this garbage needs to be rejected. No barganing in the hopes of having the game ruined just a little less with each new update.

Seriously this is not right it has to be a joke right?
I just started getting a lil serious with crafting and getting it to a decent lvl. If this goes live bah done crafting and grats to those who got those coveted banes before turbine screwed crafting all together.
Not going to touch crafting again until see if turbine implements this.
If do done with it not going to touch it again.
Now I can see using these items in replacement of certain ingredients but making it required to craft having raid loot is total BS and needs a better look at I don't see anyone liking this idea so far . If they do then there in minority.
One of worst ideas yet turbine need a rethink here.

I've invested heavily in crafting and this makes it worthless imho.
Brutal.
I'm glad to see my decision to start vendoring trash again was well justified.

Just when I was thinking Crafting was nearing a state of being worthwhile enough to invest my time in......this comes along and reconfirms my notion that crafting is nothing but a complete waste of my time and efforts. To be avoided at all costs, in fact.
Rather egregious changes, and that's from somebody who isn't invested in the Crafting what so ever. I really sympathize with those who have put their time and effort into Crafting, because this must feel like a stab in the back.

When I saw that Cordovan had replied, I thought "good! a dev here to say it is all a bad joke or a troll." Then I got in and saw his post...
I was greatly saddened.
This will, as many others have said, destroy the act of passing/putting up for roll raid loot and tomes that people don't need so that newer/less fortunate characters can have nice things too. Out with any sense of community and in with pure senseless greed. Totally unnecessary.

Maybe this means that Chattering Rings will now drop more often.
Or not.
