Epic Antique Great Axe Question

Okay, so I finally crafted my EAGA (Epic Antique Greataxe) the other day, which is great, except that it doesn't bypass alignment, but it does have the red and colorless slots.

My question is based on the assumption that the EAGA is going to get a nice little upgrade at some point in the future (hopefully sooner rather than later).

About a year ago, I pulled a Red Augment Crystal of Aligned Planes from Devil's Assault, whose description says it lasts 100 hours, which seems like a good temporary solution until the next upgrade.

On the other hand, when I was reading the forums about Augment Crystals, it said that Augment Crystals are permanent.

My hesitation is that I don't want to slot this aligned planes thing and end up with it permanently taking up my red slot (which I'd like to use for +7 ability at some point in the future).

So here are my questions:
1) can anyone confirm that the Red Augment Crystal I pulled from Devil's Assault really is only temporary?
2) If it turns out to be permanent, will I still be able to upgrade the EAGA when the item itself is upgraded in a future update?

1. Yes it's temporary.
2. If it gets upgraded normally they put in a patch that lets you crunch the axe with 3 epic dungeon tokens to upgrade to the new version (but I'm pretty sure that it clears out any slots).

So the temp crystal is prolly the best solution to this problem.

Correct. The Devil's Assault crystals are temporary. The crystals you buy with dungeon tokens from the Magma Elemental beside the altar are permanent.

When it does get an upgrade, the same ritual clears the slots and upgrades it to the new form, provided that the developers remember to put the upgrade ritual in place.* Also note that when you use the "clearing slots" aspect of this ritual, it will clear all slots out of the item.

Since the upgraded form of the EAG is coming out hopefully in update 11 this Autumn, it's up to you if you want to spend any tokens on permanent upgrades or not.

* Update 8 upgraded a bunch of Fens and House P items, but the upgrade rituals were not put into place in the epic alter. Anyone who had an older item was not able to upgrade it to the new form, or clear any slots on the few that had slots. The upgrade rituals were not properly added until a patch to update 8.

+7 is never, ever worth the slot. please slot it with the good aligned crystal.

Isn't the EAG supposed to receive righteousness, which will allow it to bypass good DR?

Once it gets the update it will bypass the more usual DR's (devil and demon) on it's own, at which point slotting it with +7 is actually a very good idea.

I have 1 question. Just got EAGA, and dont know what to put in epic slots. I have Lit2, and I need DR breaker instead Min2.

If you need a DR breaker now, and can't wait for Update 11 to change the stats on the eAG, you should put a Heaven's Light (good base damage) crystal into it.

Just know that you will lose those 30 tokens when you later perform the 3-token upgrade ritual once update 11 comes out.

If you can wait, like if you have a Holy Silver weapon now to break DR, you can just leave it unslotted until update 11 comes out and just spend 3 tokens then to upgrade it.
