Default Using LFM catchphrases to identify leaders...

I know that I'm pretty much a complete unknown to most folks that frequent the forums, but I happen to be someone who leads Shroud runs to completion on about 8 toons every 3 days, fairly consistently.

My LFMs usually fill quite fast, most often with familiar names & voices, all of whom bring their great play & senses of humor. I am not too often cursed with a bad/ignorant player, thankfully.

I happen to use a catchphrase in my Shroud LFMs: 'Completion for the needy; DDoor for the greedy!'
For particulars, I'll precede that with the likes of 'Healers for the bleedy' or 'Casters so we're speedy', etc.
I feel it conveys the goal while simultaneously telling people that it is me leading it, even if they might not know that particular toon of mine. I receive /tells all the time commenting on the LFM.

Anyway, over the last week or so, my wife & I have noticed a sudden increase in the use of my little catchphrase in Shroud LFMs.
Can people not come up with original phrases, or does absolutely everything in this game have to be some form of copy/paste?
Honestly, my only concern with this is that people might join one of these runs, thinking it's me leading... and find out that the imposter is a better leader than me! :P

I see the same thing with other players & their LFMs. Things like 'Easy peasy lemon squeezy', etc.
I couldn't imagine using that in one of my own LFMs, as it's definitely an associative catchphrase for that particular player...

    Thoughts?

Heh, I could I suppose, and what a ticket for grand drama it might be! LFM wars! Like the Chronoscope-LFM wars of.... not too long ago!

Honestly, I find it interesting, that's all.

    Well....if you had said......

Completion for the needy; DDoor for the greedy!™

then you would have been set. Sadly, you now owe me a nickle every every time you use it.

I think you should take a chill pill and care more about your own groups and don't worry too much about other people's posting in the LFM panel.

Yeah complaining that someone on the internet copied you won't get you far (just ask the music industry) especially since your catch phrase isn't all that clever or original

It's a cute catchphrase, but the better something is, the more likely it is that other people will adopt it.

The thing about stuff that works is that it works, then people think it's sort of a standard, not realizing that it identifies your special abilities. If you are using it 8 times a day every 3 days, I'm sure there are lots of people who don't know you at all who think it's a bunch of people using the phrase.

I didn't say it was, only that I used it to somewhat identify myself to those familiar.

And for those unfamiliar, it could simply be regarded as a typical Shroud-standard catchphrase, rather than you-specific.

All I know is that Zerg guy seems to run a lot of groups, but seems he must have a guild that people don't like, cause some people are like No Zergers!

Really? Seriously? You're issue is that someone 'stole' your LFM catchphrase and might think it is you? Wouldn't they figure that out once they join?

    Honestly, WGAS?

They are catchy, they identify you, and they are a sign of a good leader.

I myself, when leading Shrouds, throw "Shroudalicious." in the LFM. Likewise, my nightly runs of EBT-EPC-ES include "The usual."

BYOH. Know it, abide by it, or don't mess with those who do.
