    Default Preview of Armor

I'm not sure if this has been talked about or not, but, here's my 2 cents:

I'd love for some type of preview to be available so that I can see what that peice of armor im looking at actually looks like before I buy it, be it from vendors or from the AH.

I hate getting a nice piece of gear from the AH or the brokers and put it on and "OMG?!?! what is this I am looking at!?!?!?" As I am sure alot of us have done with some pieces of gear.

Yes I know that armor kits can change the way it looks but, I'd rather not have to buy those for some level 4 armor that I'll outgrow within a few levels anyways.

I love the way some of the armor looks the designers did a great job overall. But some pieces of armor just look rather bad to me.

Other games have put this in and I really don't see this as game breaking at all.

Thanks for reading and//or posting feedback.

Would be nice. Saw that cheap +5 mithral breastplate at the AH and buyed it. Then I saw why it was sold. Lavender all over doesn't suit my grumpy dwarf. Is there a elf I can sell it to?

My horc bought what I thought was pretty good armor, until I put it on... kind of a light pastel blue. I would actually prefer a less effective armor that looked good then... light pastel blue. If it were awesome, I would buy a kit for it but again, it was light pastel blue and I have a horc. It didn't even have spikes or plates on it, it was just the under-armor body sock in LIGHT PASTEL BLUE!

Sorry about that. On a similar note, my wife plays as well and complains that every time she comes across good armor it's puke green(she would kill for lavender armor, just warning you) and every time she buys a helm it's red or orange, she hates orange. How doe's the game know that? Really?

    Yeah, I completely agree.
I've bought more than a few items from the AH, only to discover after I put it on that it's just not my style at all!

Is there any way to change up your look without having to spend actual cash (turbine points?) Like a small plat fee?

    +1

Especially when shields already have this functionality at least in vendors.

yea something like this would rock. It doesn't have to be a big change or anything I'd be totally happy with a nice preview in the window like shields get.

Well, i havn't been on the AH yet but I support this request. I don't see why it can't be done. We should be able to preview anything before we buy. Incidenlty, I don't think we should have to pay points for armor kit previews either..I know it's only 1 point, but the DDO store has bettter stuff to spend points on, they dont need that 1 point, when it could be used with more points to buy something better. That's just my 2 cents.

    Couldn't agree more.

I have found some nice robes sometimes for my casters, and armors for my tanks. An example is the Bloodplate armor I always use on my red-head elf fighter, its 100% her looks and personality, and I'm using that armor since the very first day I got it. I even bound it not to get permanent damage (tough is the 2nd armor now, I didn't bound the 1st one, so I did the quest again with another toon and when the armor dropped, I sent it to the fighter).

Question here, tough, is the possibility to preview an item when we buy it from in-game vendors or AH. That's why I never buy armors or robes from there. I know there is a 90% chance I want my plat back. If weapons, shields, and even potions have different looks, why shouldn't the armors and robes get a real preview as how they look in the selection orb?

Of course, there are always armor kits, but the main purpose of the discussion is the preview of items when buying them, not their customization.

Edit: forgot to mention outfits, and all other stuff that equips in the Armor slot.
