Severe latency in game

Im noticing a real problem with my latency in both DDO and LoTRO. In LoTRO i routinely have the breaking chain graphic displaying, and in DDO my latency hovers around 600-1200ms with about 1% packet loss.

For awhile i thought it was a problem with my connection, but apparently this is exclusive to turbine game servers (or at least the ones i play on). My downloads, even over a wireless network, peak 1Mbps, and my latency in another game (Rift) is a solid 75 at all times.

It seems like when i first log in the latency is fine, but within 10 minutes the little icon shows up.

Is there anything i can do to fix this issue?

Latency alone is harder to troubleshoot than lag, because at least some lag can be checked in your system whereas network problems are outside your control.

Download of files tend to be faster than an ongoing connection, in which latency can burst and be inconsistently.
You can compare if u play another game, which u say u do with rifts so maybe there's another lurking issue.

If outside of the US note that international ISPs may have redundancy issues.
It is tricky because windows or the router won't detect a disconnection, you just lose half the internet for a couple minutes.
Technically, even inside the US might very well be that you have better link to rifts than ddo.

My whole group has been getting hit today. 1-2 minute latencey stopages is quest. So it just isn't an issue on my end.

I'm having the same problem here on Sarlona. I get a loss of about 0.6% to 1.8% and it's making it difficult to move and cast spells. I have never had this issue before, and nothing has changed on my computer recently.
