As a level 8 ranger should I take power critical?

Power Critical isn't necessary because it doesn't stack with any item that has the "Seeker" property.

The most popular seeker item is the Bloodstone, however the Arrowhead from Amrath is also nice. There's also a very nice pair of goggles from a new quest but I forget the name.

Power critical is a pretty bad feat. It doesn't add damage, only makes you confirm your crits more often. Usually, though, you won't struggle with the to-hit, and will confirm without it.

Good feats increase damage or hp, or qualify you for prestige enhancements.

if youre going pure ranger it would be silly to take precise shot or improved precise shot as they are granted to you automatically.

you could take any of the prereqs for arcane archer...power attack for melee weaps if you want...but if you havent already, i would suggest taking a toughness feat to boost your hp.

A little trick I used when I learn a new class is to open up the feat or enhancement tab (depending on what you need) and then tic the "show unavailable" box. At first the number of choices may seem overwhelming but if you invest a little time looking through them you'll see what is best for you and see feats/enhancements' pre requisites so you can plan ahead.

I'll also suggest that you use some sort of character planner. It will allow you to explore your choices while 'leveling' and print out the complete character progression. It's apretty useful tool that may just save you a heart of wood (for lesser reinc).

As previously stated Power critical is a bad choice.

You might also check what DDOWiki says about your class, avoiding mistakes and soon-to-be expensive fixes.
