All mail with attachments from my other characters gone

One of my characters got a fire guard docent, and I mailed it to my Warforged character, along with some other gear that would be perfect for my other character. My mail never arrived, and I lost the items and money spent to send the mail. Why can't I send items between characters?

By the way, I almost forgot to mention the rumors flying about missing mail being a way to push players to use the shared bank. Are these rumors true?

I have not had any problems mailing items between my characters, although I have misspelled their names once or twice while typing too fast, but if I recall, my mail came back to me after the 30 day timer was up.

Are you SURE you sent it to the right name? Are you SURE you checked the right name? Are you SURE you had the right mail tab selected, and the right server?

As to the rumors you mentioned, I find it very hard to believe that Turbine would intentionally allow a flaw in their system that caused people to lose items simply as a method of increasing profits through purchase of shared bank accounts. Not only does that not make sense from an ethical perspective, as a matter of practicality it would never work as it would more than likely turn away more people than would purchase, and the bad public relations such a thing would generate along with the loss of monies due to that bad reputation would far outweigh any gains.

I would expect that from my politicians, and banks and financial institutions, but not from a reputable and respected online gaming company. I think you are listening to the wrong rumors.

Not saying this is your situation but any time I have a mail issue I found that I have typed in the wrong name. Normally I wait the two week period and if I am lucky the variation of my name is not being used and I get my items back (happened with a w/p bow back when wounding and puncturing meant something) at worst I would have been known as the nice person or noob who gave up sweet items.

I highly doubt Turbine would risk something like that rumor, but like most companies out to make a profit its easy to believe they would stoop to such levels. Shared banks are nice but I doubt they would break the mail system to sell them when it would be more affective to put them on sale. Just my opinion though take it as ya wish.

As others have said, you can send between characters. Chances are you mispelled the name. Wait 2 weeks and hopefully they will bounce back to you.

What server is your character on and what class/level? One of us might be able to help. On that note, are both characters on the same server?

if your alts are not in your guild, or friends list, iirc the mail will go into the unconfirmed tab of the mailbox. you may want to check that also.

I always double check where my mail is going before I send it. When I double checked all the mail, they all said "Mechmage".

Did you check the unconfirmed tab?
