Default +3 Tome on Normal Raid

Had a few people asking me to post this as "proof" you can get +3 tomes on normal raids (this was from Pikers Fate).

Yeah I got a +3 cha on my sorc in piker's fate. I think that is the only raid that will drop +3 tomes on normal. Well except ToD in the Sally chest, maybe.

    Grats.

Although I find it more impressive that it dropped in an at-level group.

You guys, of course, realize what happened to the OP happened on a +1 loot weekend, right? He probably also had a loot jewel running.

I have only ever seen +3 Tomes drop in Reaver's Fate on Elite.

Loot weekends/jewels have nothing to do with raid loot. Never have, probably never will.

Yup, saw +3 int the last time I was in there. Wasn't elite.

Hound and VoD both use really special loot tables. For most items they are exactly the same on N/H/E (or close to it). Shields (HoX) and Bracers (VoD) are incredibly much more rare on normal, and I'm assuming they did the same thing with tomes.

This all comes from some random source posted elsewhere, but my own experiences would agree.

Also you can see from the OP's buff bar that there is no jewel running.

I wouldn't know as I've never used them but thanks for the knowledge.

I can't find it but I know it's true. Loot bonuses of all types(Jewel/Bonus weekend/Half-Orc ability) DO NOT effect specific loot. This includes Raid loot, as well as specific named items that drop from chests.

If they did, everyone would wear one every raid they went in. Don't you think? Why go into a raid with lower chances?

That makes sense regarding Loot Jewels.

What about +1 loot weekends? Has it been definitively established (by either Dev comments or objective testing) that those do not affect Raid chests?

    Just curious.

I am not sure if tomes are included in that list.

Hmmm...good point Stainer. Tomes are NOT specific Raid items. At least not in the sense a Sword of Shadow is.

I've heard +x loot bonuses dont affect named items drop. I've never heard it doesnt affect raids...

Never the less, all the chests buffers crying out loud on shrouds when someone open a chest before they pray for it.

+3s are. They are considered raid loot for the specific raids that they drop out of, and are treated the same way, i.e. unaffected by loot weekends.

Just for conversation. The mechanic that allows them to drop on hard/elite vod and hound contradicts that statement. Intuitively that would seem to work off of quest level and thus be influenced by a loot gem and/or bonus loot weekend.
