I don't think that you understand what f2p is.
It's a free trial. Turbine wants f2p people to enjoy them game enough that they'll pay for it.
In addition I know someone who is a premium player that spends more money than most VIP's who frequently asks me or one of her guildies to open elite for her.

So now, to the root of the problem... Why would it be offered in the store when it could be done for free anyway? Not by running N/H first, but by asking others to do it for you. And to those out there that "don't do it for XP", you should google a calculator. E/E/E/E/E/E/E/E/E/H/N nets a huge XP gain far above any other methodology. Proven fact. The only debate is over if your toon is good enough to do it.
Back to the original point, seems awfully deceiving to the F2P player to have these things offered in the store as if they were required.
I have not yet begun, to defile myself.
They offer all sorts of things in the store you can get for free really. And I don't think I have ever looked in the store and thought something was required... except the armor kit to change the appearance of that tacky gold carnival armor. That WAS required.
tho really... I'm feeling sort of sad for you that after all this time since your first post it still seems to have your knickers in a twist. Go out and enjoy things instead of letting something in a silly game get you grumpy![]()

Posts like the are really f2p/premium players and non-****** p2p players to help f2p/premium players. What is the problem with that?

Stingality
I look at it this way
- There are quests that some people don't want to run more than once
- If you don't want to open Hard/Elite for the group that needs an opener don't - your not obligated
- Why are people concerned with how others want to play the game? How does it effect you directly?
If people want to run a quest on Elite they should be allowed to try to find someone willing to help them open that difficulty. For me the funny ones are the ones that want to run a quest on Elite, but have never been in the quest prior. Don't know what to expect, where to go and what to avoid and are completly unprepared...
I do not agree.
No food has been taken out of my mouth.
I remember the days when the only way I leveled up quickly was having LFMs like that (when we could only open on norm to start).
Now they get turbine points for this. And that keeps them in the game and gets them glued to it, good thing.
The other option, the worst one, is to have to switch to another toon that can open it elite, then switch back...a real bummer.
Let them have some cake.
I do not sign this petition.

well, that is not entirely true. Some, like myself NEVER do that grind you speak of. We like to do elite once, get the favor and awesome xp, then move to the next quest, seldom ever repeating a quest til high level.
it kills people like me to have to do norm, then hard, just to do elite....thank god that is changed now.
My double TR had no problem leveling this way and still had a ton of quests never done and never went for slayers in the wilderness areas (though I did do explorers when I could not find groups for a bit).
Once and elite and done, the game never gets old that way and is great fun...at least for me.

VIP here.
To be honest, the whole 'open on elite' thing was something I didn't even know until I went f2p. Then I discovered just how annoying it was, and it took less than an hour to resubscribe. It's annoying. It's overly annoying, even.
But the real reason I maintain a subscription isn't for that perk. It's nice, but to me it's just a workaround around something shouldn't exist in the first place. I pay VIP to fund content development and to have all the packs and races I could possibly want, plus the free points and the ungodly number of characters that an altoholic like me enjoys. The shared bank, and so on.
But not the quest-opener thing. It doesn't bother me one whit if a f2p player would like to challenge his/her build, or if a group wants to see if they can take elite. Of almost all the things on that VIP list, only 'access to tech support' strikes me as less useful.

I've put a LFM looking for an elite opener. You don't have to be VIP to do this.
But I've also gotten an alt account I was using as my opener. Which was fine for free quests, but recently purchased the 6900 point and got most of the additional content. Now I just use guest passes for missing content and run them on elite runs.
Only issue is chain quests, but oh well.
guess you don't remember all the "favor run" lfms back in the day. you know, the ones where level 8-14 characters
were running harbor quests on elite. even then you'd likely see "need elite opener".
lots of times I'd join one and people would be switching characters left and right just to "open" a quest on elite
and once someone stepped in, log back to their current favor running character.
