    Default Arcane Augmentation

Do bards benefit from arcane augmentation items?

Description says sorcs and wizards only. Anyone tried it?

I don't take it on my bard. In theory for charming but charming doesn't work in a lot of places, I don't normally take a hireling, and summons are limited. But in theory it can help.

Out of curiosity, does this augmentation stack with the savant CL boosts?

You're thinking of Augment Summoning, which gives +4 to all ability scores and increased health and fort.

Arcane Augmentation increases your caster level.

Arcane Augmentation affects only the Arcane spells. This mean if you are a cleric you only gonna benefit for those spells that are as well on an arcane spell list like resistances, night shield. For Bards that's the same: all buffs get benefit of an Arcane Augmentation but, since heal spells are considered by the game divine flagged, your heals won't increase.

Everything tested via combat log since my bard owns a Epic Staff of Arcane Power right now.

Your heals don't increase because they cap at a certain level.

That shouldn't be right. Bards cast arcane magic, period. Clerics cast divine magic, period. Also, what Glenalth said.

Bards can still heal after getting hit with a Quell's Intercession, so they're not considered to have a divine source.

Odd. Bards are Arcane casters; every spell is Arcane, even the hjeals. Perhaps this is worthy of bug-reporting.

That certain level for Mass Cure Light and Mass Cure Mod is 25 and 30, respectively. There should be some visible way within the combat log to notice the augmented caster level for these spells; indeed, using Song of Arcane Heightening works with these spells, last I checked.

Yup. Again, thinking this issue may be bug-reportable.

Another good method of proof for this, yes.

Another source of proof : Casting MCLW and MCMW off of scrolls incurs arcane spell failure, even when in light armor.

You are correct. Someone might have been half asleep. Doh.
