Unknown Class

I created a new character. Once I was done, and was taken to the character selection screen, my character is grayed out and for his class it sais "unknown." does anyone know what is going on? i only have 4 toons total, and this one is a Human Cleric.

Without knowing any more details, I would have to guess that perhaps your new Human Cleric accidentally got corrupted? Since you only just now created it, you could delete it and remake it.

Were you using 32 point build to create it?

seriously though, it's probably an internal issue, where the data was corrupted. happens all the tiem with data.
