Theres no reason to NOT build in self healing. This is one of the big reasons to build a ranger rather than a pure melee DPS with no blue bar, which is what should have been built if people are not healing themselves when needed.
yes. every ranger should be equipped with a set of DT and a 30% dream edge, or be cast out of a group like a hobo in the hilton.
BEGONE.
fwiw, i have a ranger with a superior dev shield when i need a cure. unfortunately, most people in my party are generally more concerned with resists/FOM/poison than if i heal myself. so my blue bar is more valuable to the party as buffs than to use it all on a few cmw. if there is a healer in the group it costs less for them to get me to max hp than it does for me.

you changed, bro...
Huh...I like the responses here more then my actual in game experience. I seem to always see rangers go ding with an almost full blue bar and I could count on one hand the times I have seen a ranger use a wand. Wish all DDO players had to come to the forums and read up on what a class can actually do.

You’re actually ahead of a lot of rangers in that regard. I was always into defensive buffs and helping the party healer when I had the SP available. But, it was really brought home to me how much of a difference it can make when I rolled a cleric. (I had a level 11 ranger that wouldn’t back up my level 10 cleric when I asked him to do resists and I would DV him for the trouble.)
Things worthy of Standing Stone going EXTREME PREJUDICE™ on.:
- Epic and Legendary Mysterious ring upgrades, please.
- Change the stack size of filigree in the shared bank to 50. The 5 stack makes the shared bank worthless for storing filigree in a human usable manner.
- Fixing why I don't connect to the chat server for 5 minutes when I log into a game world.
- Fixing the wonky Lightning Sphere and Tactical Det firing by converting them to use alchemist spell arcing.
- Redoing the drop rates of tomes in generic and raid loot tables.
On the buffing side of things I use a Archmagi Belt when I shrine, allowing me to buff myself fully with 40 extra SP to spare, without losing any of my actual SP, and I always buff anything that the healers ask me to, Normally that's FoM/Elemental Resistance. If I need to, I can and do expend all my mana on buffing, but some rangers won't do that.
I link my torc to my caster friends who don't have one yet, I'm so loved because of this![]()
