I know its been asked for about 100 times, but I have not seen a thread recently. With all the new crafting coming out, don't you think that there should be greensteel deconstruction? I know I have about 7 or so greensteel items that I don't use (including 2 litIIs). And I am sure that some people have many more useless greensteel than I do.
There are obviously many ways to go about deconstructing greensteel items. I'll list some options here that I just thought of for the community to discuss. As well the devs can read this thread to get some ideas if they hopefully decide to implement this wonderful merciful idea.
1. You get the shards (all tiers) back from an item when you deconstruct it. The greensteel item is destroyed.
This would help if you want to change which slot you want an item on. For example, I made a LitII bastard sword (because those are the best), but I just decided I want to change to THF. I could take the LitII shard off my khopesh and put it on a greataxe.
2. You can deconstruct shards further to get some/all of the ingredients back.
If you made an item that you no longer need, you can deconstruct it to get the shards back and then further deconstruct the shards to get some ingredients to craft a new item. Some ingredients could be lost in the process.
3. You deconstruct the item to just get a portion of the ingredients back, without getting the shard back. The item is destroyed.
I don't like this idea, but if it is easier to implement, I'm all for it. Something is far better than nothing.
Another topic of discussion would be what is required to deconstruct an item? Do you need an item that drops out of part 5 to deconstruct something? Would it require crafting levels to do (not too high level hopefully)? Do you need a deconstructer from part 4/5 to remove tier 3, a deconstructer from part 3 to remove tier 2 and a deconstructer from part 1 to remove tier 1?
