An alliance is by definition a two way agreement. Not contacting a party, then unilaterally declaring an alliance...well, to say the least, it reeks of desperation.

Wabbles was very diplomatic in his response to your invitation. I hope you appreciate that his response is a lot kinder than what you will typically hear when taking this kind of approach.

Maybe I am out of line, but this seems like an insult to every other guild out there.

This is something that should have, in my opinion, been done privately. To announce to everyone on Argo that you are forming an alliance with guilds x,y and z, but not a,b and c (because if you are not on the list, no felt you were worth mentioning) is going to create a few hard feelings. People that have run from guilds not on the list are going to feel shafted. It is a little elitest, in my opinion, to throw it out there in everyone's faces that there is a channel, you are not invited, and if you find your way into it, you will probably be blacklisted or squelched.

I am not from any guilds on the list; I do not take offense and will continue to run with people I know from any of these guilds. But I am saying this is a huge way to seperate yourself from the rest of server and cause a few, if not a lot of, hard feelings.

But that is just my point of view, and it might very well be wrong.

Maybe the OP should have considered informing Britches and Hose that they were going to be included in their post. Quite frankly if somebody said hey we are forming an alliance channel and AOK will be included in the channel without first consulting us, you better believe that everyone in AOK (who still has posting privileges) would be on the forums telling them to get our name out of their mouth.

Furthermore Ghoste's post was only pointing out the above stated fact. This channel is hilarious because a lot of the people I know in game that are in those guilds do not want any part of this channel.

On a serious note: I wish you best of luck on your channel Eyereckon. Sometimes keeping a channel private has it's privilages and advantages.
I will be very interested in seeing how this channel developes.

Imperial Assassins has created a new alliance channel in order to link together a number of guilds that:

1. Run together often (playtimes, faster fills)
2. Consistently demonstrate above-average performance (more success & smoothness, faster completes)
3. Have an overall membership that is generally pleasant & fun to be with

Who?
Channel invitations are extended to the following Guilds. This list was produced from an internal Imperial Assassins discussion. If your guild is not on the list than it probably means your guild name never came up in the discussion at all.

• Dungeons and Dragon (DND)
• BDH
• Nothing Personal (NP)
• Math
• Order of the Silver Dragons (OSD)
• Elite by Nature (EBN)
• Noble by Design (NBD)
• Single Malt Addicts (SMA)
• Fine Antique Leg Wear (FALW)

Why?
This channel is about enabling greater communication among quality guilds that often run together. It is an enhancement over what we already do. You only have so much room on your Friends lists for everyone + their alts. Why send dozens of tells when you can just broadcast a single channel message? The intended benefit of this channel is to provide access to a large pool of talented players in order to achieve greater success and faster party fills.

This channel is not at all about individuals within those guilds. All guilds have personalities that do not get along well with others. All members of an invited guild are eligible.


Other Benefits
A basic Alliance website has been created that could be used for inter-guild Forums and even Event Calendar. This will allow smaller guilds or timezone-spread guilds to schedule activities with other alliance guilds.


Get Connected!
Any member of an invited guild is eligible to participate. For Channel name & password ask your guildies or an Officer of Imperial Assassins. Officers of invited guilds should consider providing this information to their Members or even include it into their MOTD.

Rules (Version 1)

1. Officially invited guilds and their members only! We'll figure out what to do with uninvited guests or participants that no longer belong to an invited guild. Later we will determine if, when, and how to add more guilds to the alliance.
2. Channel talk is preferred to be strictly business: LFMs, farming, etc. Socialization is fine so long as the channel does not become too noisy where people miss group opportunities in the backlog.
3. It is customary to offer party slots to the channel before pugging them.
   Give & Take. Ideally the channel will become your only necessary source of party members outside of your guild.
4. Invited guilds should not require that their members participate in the channel.

Can we join too?
There presently are no plans to invite any additional guilds but that could change after things get settled. In the meantime, it is recommended that your guild increase your familiarity with and exposure to the invited guilds.

That ok ramaeses, still trying to figure out when bdh join this alliance.. One day the leader will find out about things like this

The list of guilds are simply ones that IA has extended an invitation to at this phase. It does not in any way mean that the listed guilds are actually part of any new or existing alliance, have accepted the invitation, or anything like that.

Now that the various guilds are receiving the message they will likely want to ask questions about it. Just ask us in-game and we can voice chat about it to avoid other misunderstandings. Eventually guilds will decide for themselves if they want to participate or not as a whole or leave it up to their members. Whenever minds get made up just let us know and we'll take care of the rest.

Sorry again for the confusion. This endeavor is a rather complex undertaking to manage so there are a few bumps along the way. For one thing it really has highlighted that there is no timely, elegant way to communicate with the leaderships of multiple guilds. Hopefully that is something the channel will also help with.
