Default Newbie WTS Planar Gird, stuff (?)

Hi all, newbie here; Having played for a bit now, I just got my first character (barbarian) to level 10, and I was lucky enough to pull a Planar Gird out of Xorian Cypher, which I'm given to understand is worth some money. Unfortunately, I don't really know how much, and if my attempts to sell other things on the Auction House are any indication, I seem to be rubbish at using it. So, I thought I'd give this a try, and maybe make a trade, or at least get some useful advice. I don't really know what I need either, apart from things for more inventory space, which seems to be a consistent frustration.

    WTS:
    Planar Gird

    Might be valuable also?:
    Sign of Xoriat
    Robe of Neutralize Poison
    Deathblock Robe of Light Fortification
    Disease Immunity Belt
+1 Holy Kama of Pure Good
    +2 Heavy Adamantine Shield
    +1 Adamantine Chainmail
    +2 Adamantine Chain Shirt
    +1 Blueshine Adamantine Splint Mail
+1 Greater Devotion Mithral Tower Shield of Light Fortification
    +4 Heavy Mithral Shield
    +2 Mithral Breastplate
    Tasty Ham?

    What I could use:
    Collapsed Portable Hole
    Large _any_ Bag
I don't know. It doesn't seem like most of what I see on here (Scrolls, Scales...) would be useful to me.

Posts or PMs accepted. Thanks for reading.

Keep it and use it. 10 minutes of fear immunity and +4 to saves, skills, and attacks is quite nice.

Looking out for you from another server: Don't sell your planar gird. Else seller's remorse is inevitable...

There's only one thing better than a Planar Gird: two Planar Girds. The others are right - don't sell this one. If you must, farm one, and then sell that one. But even that might be foolish.

These are good advice. They are expensive for a reason.

In the last week, I had 2 planar girds on the AH. One was 200kpp start, 300kpp buyout. The other was 250kpp start, 350kpp buyout.

The 200kpp one got a bid and sold for 210kpp. The other came back 3 days later.

I then put it up for 190kpp start, 200kpp buyout, and it sold in a few hours.

From this, I would say put it on the AH for 200kpp start, 250kpp buyout (3days), or try to get someone in marketplace to give you 200kpp (which is equivalent to having sold it on the AH for abotu 285kpp).

I do agree with the other guys saying don't sell it unless all your melee characters have at least 2 though.

As a counter-anecdote I've sold five over the last few weeks ranging from 400-500k per. (two via trade, three on the AH) Since this is your only one and presumably you're pretty broke, keep an eye on the AH and aim to list high. If there are 2-3 for under 500k listed just wait a day or two to list. If you're looking for a fast sale listing in the 200-300k range is good advice, but with a little patience you can do better.

Thanks for all the advice, but I'd already made up my mind to sell it. My friend, who I run with often, is a wizard, so I've not found myself wanting for heroism buffs. That is, in part, why I think I would be better served by selling it.

I know it's not nearly as valuable, but is any of the other stuff I listed even worth trying to sell, or should I just sell it to a broker?

How about I sell you mine for ~400k, and then you can mark it up and sell it for ~500k at your leisure?
    Just a thought.

Keep it. You can never have enough of these **** things unless all your toons you're ever going to make are going to be arcanes and UMD-monkeys.

Planar Gird is made of win. A must have for any melee character.

    Relatively new player here.
Sold my first planar gird at level 11.
Later that day, I rearended a puppy truck. Full of ORPHAN puppies. Driven by my grandmother*
    Don't sell it.

    *May not have really happened.

a new player with a barb is definitely gong to want to keep their first gird...

GH gives you a +4 to attack rolls, which is very significant (not to mention the boost to all saves)...especially since you will want to have power attack on a lot, and (just a guess) but you aren't heavily geared.

if you want to test it out, go into a quest at your level with power attack on and swing at different mobs...watch the on screen die to see what numbers you miss on...then buff yourself with the gird and do it again.

the item itself is used for the self buffing clicky more than anything else...you can wear a str or con belt, swap to buff, and swap back.

enjoy it and fod god's sake dont sell it right now.

sadly, the rest of the items that you listed aren't too uncommon and/or hard to obtain. good random loot would be items that are metalline of pure good, silver, holy burst, low level +x stats, etc...

    best of luck

Well, it can't be that valuable, since no one actually wants to buy it...

Okay, I'll bite, what's the point of having 3 girds? In case you happen to be in a group with no arcanes, and the shrines are 33 minutes apart? That just seems.. excessive. Care to explain?

You can use the clicky on other people too, and deaths do happen. And there are some quests where that 33 minutes may very well be relevant. Something like Elite Coalescence Chamber can just drag on and on.

I like having two, myself. That is enough for most of my needs.

Actually in elite coal chamber you will likely get dispelled after less than 5mins of having used your gird thanks to the casters who are dispel-happy in there

Which is another reason to have multiple girds: Some monsters dispell you.

I carry 2 on star, and use to carry 2 on my other characters that couldnt cast it as a spell. I got rid of those other characters before I got rid of the girds heh.

Another guy telling you not to sell it. It takes up just one inventory space.

I have a monk that wants one but isn't willing to put up the insane prices that are currently on the AH - forcing me to use my lowbies to farm Xorian.

You will use it. GH gets dispelled, and you want to keep it on ya. The more clickies you have, the more self-sufficient you are, meaning you are harder to kill in a quest. All of this is a good thing man.
