Problem with client crashing computer

Sometimes when playing ddo, particularly when loading into a new area my computer screen will go black. I know its just not my screen off though because anything else on (like ventrilo) no more sound will come out, I can't interact with anything I had up by using the keyboard, etc. But the power light and the computer fans will remain on. At this point I do a hard restart of my computer.

Nothing else ever crashes my computer like this. Anything I can do? I already changed my graphics to the lowest setting.

Examples of places where this happens: Going into sewer in echrono, crystal cove was terrible for this about half time loading into a new instance there, during dragon fight in evon6 especially if I am up near dragon. It can also happen randomly, just as I am running along or not moving at all, anywhere. Sometimes it happens once every few days, sometimes it happens 5 or 6 times in one day.

Could you post your DXDiag report?

Go into your computer's graphics settings, and set everything to application-controlled. Then in DDO, disable anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering, then enable player mesh combining.

Intel integrated graphics - ouch! I'm pretty sure that's at the core of the problem.

On the plus side, the post I linked to earlier has the steps that will likely help. Running DDO in DirectX9 mode and adjusting the Engine Speed are the two big things to do for sure. Try that out, and then let us know if things improve.

Try playing in windowed mode (alt+enter) and if/when DDO crashes it might not take the entire system with it.

Integrated graphics are not the greatest for playing games on since a shared memory issue can affect windows memory.
