Default The Official Rules of PvP

Hello! I am here to inform some of some PvP rules! (Listen up your power word stun NOOBS)

    Level:
The challenger must be within 4 levels of his opponent, only challenges with people of levels under that can be made with someone more then 4 levels under you who have challenged you, you may not challenge them.

    Double Teaming:
Double teaming is genrally not accepted unless the two challengers added up level is within the level range of the opponent (see Level) such as level 9 + level 8 can attack a level 13,14,15,16,17,18,19, or 20.

    Spells:
    Please casters, dont use these,

    Power Word Stun
    Finger Of Death
    Ottos Irresistable Dance
    Command
    Wizard Past Life Ability
    Eladers Electric Surge
    Niacs Biting Cold

    Ledge Hopping:
    ummmmmm... no

    Trip and Stun:
These are perfectly legal, how else will people get those hoppy casters?

    Bard songs:
Of course, I mean, what else do bards really have?

    Manyshot and Slaying Arrows:
    Slaying Arrows: Yes
    Manyshot: No

Well, that pretty much covers everything :P
    Goodbye!!!:D

    Here are the rules:

Anything I can do is allowed. Anything you can do that beats what I can do isn't.
    Khyber - Arnonech/Dracnair/Rakashai/Arashtol
"That's Khyber for you - even when we're nice we are crushing dreams."

Rules for PVP are you kidding me. If people obeyed these rules there would be no PVP drama, no whining in general chat, no flaming in tells.

There are no rules in Fight club except we dont talk about fight club.

Rules hehehe that is the funniest thing I have heard in a long time thank you.

The only rule in PVP is kill or be killed.

p.s. Please dont take this message as someone who supports PVP, I dont but this was just too funny to ignore.
Enjoy yourself your time on earth is very short.

All Kyber toons - Xirthax (Paladin) : Xirth (Wizard) : Xirthtrix (Fighter) : Xorthtrox(Monk)

I don't PVP, but for those who choose to engage I'd say there's only one meaningful rule: There are no rules.

    Rulez:
Whatever advantage you have please forget them.

Monks please equip Khopeshes, Barbarians please use fists.

Wizards go stand in a corner and dont turn around oh yea and take that sorc with you.

Rangers please leave bowstrings on the floor next to your quivers.

All others please do not bother we have rulez for you as well.

And if you beat me, I'll want whatever you used nerf'd and/or removed from game until I can get it too.

If you beat me more then a few times in a row I'll report you for Harassment.

It's totally true, I have a reliable source. You better reroll now.

You get to make the "official" rules for everyone?

I call baiting on the OP's post...

What makes these the "official" rules.

It seem to me the rules are established by what abilities / spells are available in the pit.

I'd say learn to cope, or get out of the pit.

I don't PvP, but here's the rules kid: There aren't any. The only "rules" that apply are what Turbine has said you can/can't due based on permitting the use of it.
    Archangels
Pwesiela - Completionist Arcane Archer; Pia - Silver Flame Assassin; Aes - of the Blue Ajah; Insene - Deathpriest; Enaila - Aiel Bodyguard; Uduk - Dwarven Meatwall; Vitalien -Warder

There is only one PvP rule I know of:

/dance while standing over your latest victim is not only allowed, but encouraged.
    Ghallanda: Neatoelf15wiz/1rgr, Neetoelf17wiz, NeatoManhuman13rog/6pal/1mnk, NeatoHombrehuman12ftr/6pal/2rog, Kneetoedwarf17clr, Kneedoughdrow18clr/2mnk

Minimize expectations and you'll never be disappointed

I dont PVP, but if i did the 1st thing i would do would be to use those spells.

And just so you know, everytime ive ever jumped into the pit it went like this, danced, stunned, finger (fail to dblock), Dot (or force missle), passed save, danced, stunned, DOTed (or force missile) , death. Thats what happened to ME my 1st time walking down there, it took about two seconds, and i never went back.

I dont understand why people think spamming the same spells (mostly the ones you say arnt allowed) over and over is fun. PVP as far as i see it is casters doing just that till a many shotter drops down and kills them (repeat). Toss in the occasional wingwarrior (fvs) and thats the hole story, boring.

I do somewhat agree wtih the level thing but i guess it might just be me. I wouldnt get great fun out of killing a level 1 on my capped wizard.
    Gasoline(tr) Favored Soul - 5th Life
    Deadwall(tr) - Soul Survivor - 2nd Life
    Gasolinex - Pale Master
    Gasomatic Systematic - Bard

There are only TWO rules for PvP that is open house.

    1. If you can swing it, cast it, equip it, click it, and it works in PvP, You can do it.

    2. You must kill your opponent, you can not debilitate and leave them just sitting there forever. Interruptions happen, but you must finish the job if at all possible within reason.

You see in this world there's two kinds of people, my friend. Those with loaded guns, and those who dig. You dig.

Default PvP is not the Brawling Pits...

Please lets stop confusing PvP with the Brawling Pits

PvP for dualing and other activities and is a seperate area accessable through NPC, where you face off against player(s). You can even set up System enforced rules on how to determine who wins. Death Matches, Capture the flag, etc. Here you can also set HOUSE rules (system does not enforce these however).

However, if you intend to gimp one class by tieing his/her hands behind their back, expect to recipicate.

Wizard: I see your No Power Word Stun with all melee must be no closer than two arms reach
Wizard: Ok I wont use the Wizard Past Life abilities - but you need to /dance and not move for 20 seconds

The Brawling Pits are like walking into the middle of a Drunken bar fight. Everything is game and the goal is to be able to walk out after being in there.

I do agree that it is bad form in the Pits to:
    • Attack a player much lower than yourself when not provoked
    • Incapacitate a player with no intension of killing them

    Rules to PvP.... Hah!

Rules such as the ones you listed are why I don't PvP at all anymore, and why so many are against PvP entirely...

One of my earliest experiences with PvP was a "guild togetherness night" where we took over a brawling pit for a while, then used the arenas... After the Guild leader got done listing the spells that could not be used, as a sorcerer, the only spells I had left were Magic Missile and scorching ray... what fun is that to play a caster who can't use 95% of his spells... To top it off, The Guild leader still used his WoP Repeating Crossbow. After that night I avoided the "guild togetherness nights", and only enter a PvP area to test effects or such....

*Side Note: could we get arena access on our Guildships for testing stuff?
(Say): Haywire says, '"Hey, I don't come into yer home and play with things."'
