Disclaimer- I am the creator of this build. I've been working on it here and there for 2.5 years or so, and finally got it just about where I want it. I've seen a few attempts to copy it already, my mistake for telling non-guilded people about it while it was still in the process of being perfected. So even tho I dont really use the forums, I feel I should at this point. I dont know why I even care, but I do. So after this post, feel free to use the build all you want, lol, as if you needed some sort of permission anyways.
Disclaimer#2- If you like what you see in the build, or have seen me in action, and want to try it out, know one thing. This is NOT an easy build to play, or to make, or to get geared out the right way. These things are all required to use it with any sort of success, so if you dont have the time, dexterity, or intestinal fortitude to do this, try something else. It is NOT a beginners build.

Now that all the gibberish is out of the way, also know this: Im not going to babysit anyone thru making a similar or identical build, so some things your just gonna have to figure out, and i'll let you know what those are as we go. That being said, if you see me on, and want to know something about the build, feel free to ask, I just meant that this is a complicated build, so I may not cover every little detail here.

Basics- 3 past lives all monk.
    12 monk
    7 Pally
    1 Fighter
Take the levels as you will, if you cant figure out when to take levels of what class, then its already too much for you. BUT GO LIGHT MONK, THIS BUILD WILL BE REALLY WEIRD IF YOU DONT!

    Stats-
    Str- 14 +3 tome
    Dex-18 +4 tome
    Con-12 +3 tome
    Int-11 +2 tome
    Wis-14 +3 tome
    Cha-9 +2 tome

Feats- All 2wf feats, dodge, weapon focus- slashing, 2w defense, whirling steeel strike, toughness X1, combat expertise, oversized 2wf, stunning fist. Again, if you cant figure out when to take feats you need, then forget it.

    Enhancements-
    Paladin AC boost 1
    Fighter haste boost 1
    Elven dex 1-2
    Half-Elf cleric dilletante 1-3
    Way of the badger 1-3
    Monk inproved recovery 1-3
    Shintao 1-2
    Wind stance up to 3
    Auras- Bulwark 1-2, courage 1, resistance 1, focus 1
    Divine rightousness 1
    Xtra smite 1
    Racial toughness 1-2
    Paladin toughness 1-3
    Improved concentration/intimidate 1-2
    Paladin Cha, Monk Wis 1-2
    Defender of sib 1

As far as gear goes, I have more than a few sets I use.
AC ( which is really what the build is for )
    Icy rainment with dodge rit
Lit 2 longsword with Awareness 4
Steam 2 longsword with +2 ex wis
Epic Belt of the Moron with greater false life.
GS boots of earth ( con skills ) +45 hp
Epic Jidz with +6 wis, +1 ex con
Epic Chimeras crown with +6 cha, +1 ex str
Epic gloves of the Falcon with +1 ex cha
Head of good fortune with saves ritual
    Epic cloak of night
Conners band with +1,2 ex dex
    Chattering ring
    Oremiis necklace

This will net you around 86 ac unbuffed. In wind and defenders stance. Self buffed, you are looking at the highest AC that I know of in the game. Epic AC, if you will. Here is the fun part. I didnt mention skills yet, did I? If done correctly, your intim will reach well over 60, and you can have enough U.M.D. to use Lv 5 shield wands. Hmmm, neat, so feel free to tank V.O.D. if you like, tank harry, you can even stand there in TOD while sully just swings and misses, and if he hits, go ahead and use a heal scroll, you can do that ( Under no circumstances should you try and tank Horoth. His disintigrate hits for 500+, and you will have roughly 475 hp with this build. Your saves are great, but everyone rolls a 1 once in awhile.) What if I want to swing back, you say? Wont my DPS suck becasue of all the AC **** you have me putting on, and the low Str? Lol, you would think so, huh? Well, ok, i get your point. Nope, not gonna out Dps the raging barb who only knows how to make a decent weapon that everyone can get with just a wee bit of effort, but you will steal aggro from him, and its gonna grind his gears. heres how- Your defender stance gives you +25% hate, and +2 con and str to boot. Divine rightousness gives you +100% hate, and you will have 10 of em that last a min each Not to mention that almost every one of your attacks will be a smite. With 3 pally smites, and your monk smite, plus your dissmissing strike which does damage of a smite even if the mob cant be dissmissed....... well, i think you see where this is going. OH! I almost forgot about the Fighter haste boosts. That should go nicely with the 3rd tier wind stance. And with your 2 Intims as opposed to just the 1 ( Half elves rock ) I dont think you should have any problems holding aggro against anyone. If you would like to do much more dps, and not worry about never gettin hit, except on a 20, there is a pure DPS version of this. Its easy to make ( much easier than my pure AC build ) and so I am assuming that most would go for that. Just swap the longswords for wraps ( I use +5 holyburst bleeding with icyburst ) And the rings for Burst rings ( I use shocking and acid burst rings) Then fudge with the feats and enhancements a bit. Make it KOTC instead of defender, Take improved crit bludgeon instead of 2w defense, and swap dodge out for finesse. Put on a guard armor ( I like to use salt guard, melodic guard, and +5 protection DT at this point ) If your going to make this a DPS build, Id probly say adjust the stats a bit also, little more str, con, but keep the dex the same. Itll get ya around 65 AC unbuffed, and youll still be able to pound **** into the ground. Anyways, enjoy if you decide to undertake this build that has been my personal Tower, and I hope you have fun with it when and if you do. Its hard not to. Epic mobs WILL miss you more than you would think, you can solo durn near ever'thang, and tank just about everything else.

If you're advertising it as a tank.. Let's see an AC & Hitpoint breakdown?

Well, here is a screenshot of my HP/AC, as well as other stats. If your wondering about taking hits and being able to survive them, its never a problem as long as you have quick fingers. Heal scrolls will only take your AC down by 5, they heal me for 167 hp, so 2 at most would fill me up, and losing 5 AC for a raid boss when you are fully raid buffed isnt gonna hurt at all.

Not bad at all. I know it seems like it would be really bad, but as far as normal mobs go, never a problem. Epic mobs, you can turn off Combat expertise if you are missing too much. The +5 to hit will make up the difference. Also, I always crack em with improved destruction and use GH clickies if there isnt a caster or bard there. Raid bosses also no problem, because your buffed out like crazy. As far as the numbers go, Cant say off the top of my head, i think its around 35 with CE on unbuffed, give or take a few. Thats not 50+, but it gets the job done. Its funny you asked tho, this was my biggest concern when building. Since the Str isnt great, you need to hit to proc the effects of your weapons and ki strikes/smites or the DPS would be so little that all you would be able to do is survive forever, and fights would take way too long while you whittle down a mob. Smiting gives a bonus to hit also ( im pretty sure, anyways ). You can also take the +1 to hit bonus for pally longswords enhancement, and swap out epic spec gloves instead of using epic falcon, for another +4, i just dont have them yet. Also you get 2 pally spells, i use divine favor for a +1 to hit. Alot of clicking

Very nice. I hit 74 unbuffed using burst instead of ac rings, and trading my icys for dt with Awareness5, prot5, res5, And usin wraps instead of swords. The Dps is pretty good, not the greatest tho. Thing about AC is, IMO, that when you have a ton of it ( only hit on a 20 ) hp really doesnt matter too much as long as you also have good saves and impr. evasion. I dont sweat the hp all that much, but alot of people would prob disagree with me on that.

yep i dont feel the need to hit over 74 unbuffed i still would rather go with 69 and reach 100's easily

i almost have every ac gear i need still missing quite a few and i seriously love my dr when in dps mode 18 dr blocking is quite nice and just remember that eventually when i get my hp gear i'll be able to hit 650 to 700 in no time and man will my str and damage be improved greatly. the best part about this monk though is the incrediable force damage it can have + the other bursts that i have on it heh

Yea thats the biggest thing i miss about being pure monk, the dr 10/epic. I agree 100% with you that the dps output here is much, much better, same with hp. However, the whole reason I made my build is to get the highest AC possible, no mattter the sacrifices. Thats the only reason i can think of to ever bother getting AC over, lets say 80. In my exp, 65 is all you really need for alot of ****, regular old mobs, and when your raiding, buffed up you will hit close to 75 anyways. BTW, how is it playing with void strike? Never tried it, but always seemed really neat. I just thought you might have to blow thru too many AP, and not be able to get some of the other great benefits of monk enhancements.

Several questions or ways you can improve this build for tanking purposes.

First, add close to 100 hit points this would give you the hit point threshold to survive disintegrates when tanking Elite Horoth on a regular basis. I would look at 12 monk 6 paladin 2 fighter for the extra feat. The extra pally level just gives you +1 ac but with the extra fighter feat would prove more beneficial even if its another toughness. I would also tweak your stats to 14 constitution starting and look swap to a tower ring with +2 con on it when tanking. I did not look at your enhancements, but I would invest in some toughness enhancements. You are low enough hit point wise that you would not survive a disintegrate.

Second, Longswords? Skip the flavor and go for more dps and utility that handwraps provide. Longswords are not very viable in comparison to handwraps really for a monk. Get the fens set that provides +4 insight or just use your gloves of falcon. I would swap your gear around a bit to make handwraps work. I am also a big fan of the Chrono abashi set for +3 to ac.

What he said, you need some more HP on this guy. He'll make Elite Sulu a joke, but even Normal Horoth can 1-shot him.

Thank you for the suggestions. Its true that the AC I can get up to is really just more for show at this point. Anything beyond 80 isnt really needed ( unbuffed, i mean ) I do like the idea of going handwraps instead of swords, (spending 2 years or so and 3 lives as 20 monk, u just kinda get used to it ). It would save on feats as well, 3 actually. The AC would be lower, But not by all that much. And beyond that, with the 2 feats, taking the monk past life feat would up the damage back to 20 monk unarmed. I did take 5 toughness enhancements, but the low con still keeps the hp down a bit.

There lies the problem. Id need at least 100 more hp. Already used bags of +3's and one +4 on him, so im not gonna tr again and add more to con. Besides +2 ex con on a ring, any suggestions as to where to get more hp?
Already have argo favor, 45hp GS, GFL, and toughness. I cant think of anything.

The AC DOES NOT need to be lower. Epic Siren's set has Insight 4 AC. Get the Necklace and the4 Gem of many Facets, it'll let you keep your Moron belt.

Already have argo favor, 45hp GS, GFL, and toughness. I cant think of anything.
Below is a look into Mr, Helmet:

    120 Fighter
    48 ranger
    16 Monk
    140 27 CON
    22 Toughness
    44 2 more Toughness
20 Heroic (We all get 20 bonus HP)
    10 Draconic (Gianthold Favor)
5 Way of the Patient Tortuous
    45 Shroud HP Item
20 Exc CON (off-hand Mineral II Khopesh)
    20 Minos
    40 Yugo
    20 Airship
    80 Toughness enhancements
    40 Stance (even's out CON)
    30 GFL
20 DDO Store CON Pot (Costs real money, but is available . . .)
20 Belt with large Guild Augment Slot

760 - Can Madstone before going in Stance if you need to for another 40. When he's in Kensai-mode and tanking something like the CAD in eChrono double-madstone gets him over 700.

What can you add that you haven't already?

The number to shoot for is with Inspire Heriocs, shield wands, ship buffs, and yugoloth pots (does not count burst ac) is about 88 ac buffed and if you have an ac in the low 90s better yet, but an ac in the mid 90s is not really useful in DDO. I think unbuffed 80 ac corresponds to the low 90s ac buffed so yeah I think your right.

I would not true reincarnate your character although lesser reincarnate is a possiblity. I think if you lessered for two more base constitution and you changed your gear around (epic envenomed cloak for instance and threw +1 exceptional con somewhere), had a swap ring for tanking with +2 exceptional con on it and with a yugoloth con pot and perhaps another toughness feat you can get close.

A guildy of mine has an ac character and was talking about true reincarnating the character into another ac character. I told him make sure that the new character can tank Horoth Elite because otherwise what really is the point of making an ac character in the current game?

Ha, you the man, i saw 105 hp I can add without re-doing any feats, or reincarnating. That should be enough to make it happen, thanks much.
