I don't see where in that post Cyprine suggests that a plain club is magical. In fact, "plain" is clearly meant to signify non-magical.

Perhaps you misunderstand what Invulnerability is?

Invulnerability protects against non-magical weapons. DR 5/magic means there's 5 damage unless you use a magical weapon. So that plain club has 5 of its damage blocked, while a +1 club would have none blocked.

adamantine does not stack with invulnerability, DR never stacks.
you only get the highest usefull dr/*.

a kobold with a plain club would have his damages reduced by 5 (from invulnerability)
a kobold with an adamantine (non magical) club would have his damages reduced by 5 (from invulnerability)
a kobold with a magical club would have his damages reduced by 3 (2 from adamantine)
a kobold with a magical adamantine club would do all his mighty damage.
