My wife and I are recently returned to DDO after being absent for a few years. We have played DDO on and off since original Beta. The last time that we were seriously playing the level cap was 14. While we did come back during the 16 cap we did not play very much at that time.
My wife and I have never found a guild that we really felt at home with in this game during our long play experience. We have had positive experiences in a few, but with our return find ourselves once again adrift in a sea of guildlessness or joining a random guild that we have no true information about. So I have come to the forums to see if there might be a guild out there for us.
My wife and I have recently finished our journey to 20th level on our first set of characters. Since level 14 we have primarily only grouped together and with our cohorts. We have done this because when we group we have been unable to really explore and learn an instance, exploration is one of the most enjoyable parts of the game.
What we are looking for is a friendly, mature group of skilled folks who run at many levels of content and socialize within guild channels both about the game that we share an interest in and things beyond it. While we have been playing 2 player for a while now, we don't want to always play that way. We are looking for an environment where a desire to discover rather than be directed on quests would be welcomed.
The guild that we seek would have players who are not whiners or complainers about every stage of the game. My wife and I have played in a number of other games (computer, table top, and Pen and Paper RPGs) and raided high end content. In today's populace of DDO we find a number of individuals who seem content to cry "not fair" and "too hard" at many things. Many of these individuals seem to my wife and I to have a large sense of self-entitlement to gear, levels, and skill. This sentiment seems far stronger now than before F2P came out. While I am certain that many strong players who enjoy difficulty have joined since that time, I think that a number of less skilled players who are unwilling to work have also joined the ranks of the DDOer.
My wife and I may sound picky, but I'm certain that many folks can agree it is better to be upfront about what we are looking for so that neither party is unhappy with the other. If you believe you may have the guild that we are looking for please reply to this thread. I hope to see you in game.
