Personally every toon I have gets 100 pots of every potion I feel is needed from level 1 and up. And since my mains are all support bards they carry wands and scrolls of the main remove/fixmepls spells even if i have them memed just because I usually cast first gripe later since I know sometimes in the middle of a quest/raid sometimes people's attention may not be on themselves.
In short I feel people should be ready to get themselves but if I notice I will usually have a means of casting it even on my gimpy meelee only toons.

I have been in there while seeing multiple players running around with curses, it was hard to notice when I got one myself.

    You primary, healer secondary.
I think the healers should never have to bother about curing 5 peoples curses. The only person whose curses
they might be expected to handle is the tank + themselves. Anyone else doesn't get their curses they die.

On an AC tank getting your own curses is a lot easier since you rarely have to do it more then 2-3 times per
run and almost never run into a double cursed situation. You also have a lot more leeway in noticing the curse
thanks to the fact suulu is missing you 3/4 of the time and grazing you 4 out of 5 of the remaining attacks.

On a non AC tank I would always assign an extra person on tank's curse removal duty. Getting double cursed is
fairly common and getting triple cursed can happen. In those cases the tank will have a hell of a time removing
    his own curse.

This is where that rare word, teamwork, comes into play. Many do not understand the difficulty in actually seeing the curse in those positions.

Take the high road OP. Carry pots and use them but also inform those healing you the difficulty in noticing the curse from where you are positioned.
    This.

Make sure you take care of number one, especially if number one is taking aggro.
Like others have said though, a tank should be able to take back-to-back curses and survive just fine, the cool down isn't that long. Whenever I have tanked, I move my camera so that I am almost looking down on myself, this way I can see the curse more often, and its better than looking at Sully's junk.
    Do your best!

On a side note- ..Sully killed you because you called your build, "Samurai build"... hehe

There should be no discussion, it's your job to remove your own curses.

If you want a babysitter then hire your own. I'm available for 5 major's and 50k plat per quest.

I sorta agree with that. On my cleric, i do NOT carry the spell, but i did (once a while ago) buy a stack of curse pots, and if i see a tank, or a new player (who said so, but we forgot to tell him to get pots) with a curse i will get it. If its a nice player, who forgets his curse, ill get him to. Ill only not get the curses of the people who annoyed me.

Sooo how often do you tank VoD, ToD?
And when you run it would you prefer the tank lose aggro/die and let party wipe or someone got his curse?

    VoD Curse Removal:

WF Tank: My Cleric doesn't care-Arcanes Repairing fix that issue.
Fleshie Tank: Remove Curse Wand main hand. Keeping him examined helps for curse removal.

Non-tanks. Get your own ******* curse. That's not my job.

The tank should help with their own curses, but the healers need to be willing to step in for cases such as getting recursed while pot is on cooldown as said before. If you see a a heal not taken, just uncurse them assuming their pots are on cooldown. Everyone else is responsible for their own. The tank is the primary concern for the healer.

One thing I do like about the House K pots is they can't be used on others. Way too often, while on my healers, I'll get cursed and use the curse pot on the tank, instead of myself. Because of this I've started carrying a stack of each. Normal ones to help the tank and House K pots for myself.

    personally.

If I'm out there dishing out damage, the only time I'm taking to chug a potion is self healing.

Curse or not, I am just going to keep swinging, the sooner things are dead, the sooner we win.

Granted, after the fight I will take care of things myself...

But IF the clerics job in that situation is to keep the meat shields swinging, then that includes curse removal.

A very nice sentiment and being a 20+ year pnp player I thoroughly agree. Unfortunately, although the basics are the same (mostly) this game is considerably removed from pnp and so are many of the roles of the various classes.

Shame but it does make the game more interesting.

If you get a curse you should remove it. You are the first person to be able to see the curse and the quickest to be able to relax. When tanking suulu in vod or tod I will hotkey my curse pots. The time spent to remove your own curse is not enough to lose aggro unless you are not the best option as a tank anyways.

When a group of 5 or so melees all get cursed at once, and most of them don't appear like they're going to drink their pots in a reasonable amount of time, I'm likely just to toss a Break Enchantment. I don't like to, because it clears away any CC (which I rarely see done any more anyway) and clouds (which we have to twist many arcane's arms to keep up). Break Enchantment has a fairly good chance at mass removing the curses.

I rarely ever see non-WF tanks on Sully in VoD/ToD PUG's, and the few fleshie tanks I see are usually AC tanks. I will take care of the tanks curses if I have to.

It's just that very few understand that VoD is NOT a DPS race, so they won't give a tank the lead they need to maintain aggro, and will continue to use damage/haste boots, smites, and the like before things are under control.

I like this idea - I only pulled a pair of Madstone boots on my first toon who would even consider wearing them, let alone activating them, so all I have are the guild pots. Not being a caster, he's got plenty of inventory room too.

Sure it is. It just depends on who you are running with. Try asking Moops for a sonic resist in VoD sometime

You get your own curses, tanking or otherwise.
I've never known one actual real tank to lose aggro from removing curses. So perhaps, this talk of servers, makes sense.

If you can't live between dbl curse, then don't tank--unless its as Kongo says, a short straw situation.

The only way Ill remove curses when Im on my healers is if something goes wrong, like sulu tank gets banished or VOD tank DCs, and someone has to step in and they have zero AC and I am healing them, or the Arcane healing the WF getws banished/dcs. I carry a stack of pots and throw on on the tank everytime b4 I throw a heal. This is obviously time consuming, which is why we don't usually do it since we could be DPSing ourselves or killing Orthons, or Devils, etc. Also, on Sarlona many raids are run with only one healer, so, it helps if the tanks are self sufficient

Any guild can get to lvl 20 in a matter of days, no reason nto to have the guild pots.

    tank- himself/maybehealer, probably the tank's

    everyone else- himself

if healers had to target and remove curses on all everyone who garnered a curse, everyone would die

I dont leave home without 100 remove curse pots and usually a wand also. I do tank and know how hard it is to see when backed into a corner with a huge devil over you and not being able to see them when they pop up. I think curse pots should be a essential for anyone at least a stack of 50 and you should get them yourself, I have seen lazy clrs let other clrs get theres or worse the clr who wears his madstones lol and cant do anything but pike. When in vod I usually work trash and paint as my shintao strikes have the DCs (42) raid buffed to handle the devils and orthys and i can find 2 seconds to pop a wand with 100% chance at the tank or if someone freaks and is running around unsure of what to do. I also keep a stock of clickies from the marketplace with the raise's,cure crit mass, and pancera ? (spelling) I know my last Echrono when i was tanking and having to pop the cure mass to keep the party up b/c our caster who said he had CC turned out to have a 38dc and well anyone who has ran Echrono knows what that means.

I make sure when I lead raids vod/tod ect players have the essentials curse, boots, ect so a fail is not over something stupid. I think people should get there own curses at these levels as the healers have much more important things to worry about.

Along this same line I think people should be able to handle there own blindness, fatigue, stat dmg ect if they have to the pots are very cheap and a stack of 50 of these will last a long time. Clrs/fvs should be there to heal/rez/cast DW and go!!!!!! Thanks to all the great healers out there and guys start taking some responsibility when in quests to take care of yourself.

Repost: Since my original post was deleted and I received a warning for profanity...here it is again, without profanity.

Disclaimer: This is not directed at anyone in particular, not the OP, not anyone else that posted. It is directed at the general attitude people have towards curse removal.

    My opinion:

I always carry a stack of 100 normal curse pots. They can be used on others. In a VoD I will use them on the tank when they get cursed and even on other party members. I also use them in normal quests when someone in party gets cursed. Why? Cause it's a simple thing to do and it's just going to take 1 second of your time. Stop pretending it's not your responsability to remove curses. You have pots for it, do it and help the healers/tank.

I do agree though that they should take care of their own curses as much as possible but let's be honest here. Stop blaming others when the tank dies because they were cursed when EVERYONE can remove curses with these pots.If the tank dies the blame is as much on YOU as it is on whoever was responsible for removing them. Because you could have done it too, but you didn't because all you care about is yourself.

Unless you are madstoned, you have NO valid reason to not help removing curses.
"lol it's not my job I won't do it. Do it yourself noob"
This is what I hear all the time and I'm sorry everyone but if you are one of these, you are just being lazy.

Sign of a bad DPS in VOD - when the tank is at half HP and calls out 'cursed, pots on cooldown', the idiot keeps swinging at Suulo rather than stopping and using a non-guild potion on the tank. (Exception: Barbarians).

These are the people expensive VOD runs are made up of.

LoL my cleric doesn't even have remove curse on the hotbar in wand or spell form.

I learned along time ago if you not in the healing aura or burst range, it's simply easier to throw a raise dead scroll to you when I get the time.
